Digbeth Engagement Portraits
Creative Portraits around Digbeth with Birmingham Documentary Wedding Photographer Stuart James
Ahead of their wedding this coming August, I got to spend a little time with Yvonne + Elliot around the streets of Digbeth, a fabulous area for street art and character. I really could shoot around there forever!
I’ve actually had the chance of photographing a couple of weddings around the area in the past, with Kate + Mike’s Custard Factory Wedding, and Phillipa + Joe’s Fazeley Studios Wedding, and heading back around some of the same streets on a relaxing evening with Yvonne + Elliot was great fun!
For me, engagement sessions, or pre-wedding shoots, serve two key purposes: firstly, to rid any nerves or Mis-conceptions ahead of the wedding for the couple, and secondly to spend time with my future Bride and Groom, so as we’re not strangers on the day! Getting a great set of relaxed and natural portraits is just a bonus!
After our brief wanderings around Digbeth, it was great to settle down with Yvonne + Elliot in a fab little pub Elliot’s gran used to own, The Old Crown in Deritend, Birmingham’s oldest inn, and talk about the plans for their wedding in August.
The wedding day really is going to be a blast, with a fabulous venue in The Belfry following the ceremony at the Abbey Church in Erdington, and with styling for the wedding from Design Elegance, everything is sure to look amazing!
Here’s a look at our little wanderings…definitely a lot of fun! And I think I almost got Elliot to relax by the end of the shoot ;)
