Weston Park Wedding Photos
Emma + Mark’s Gorgeous Summer Wedding at Weston Park, Staffordshire
I first spoke to Emma + Mark a year ago at the inaugural open day at Weston Park. During the afternoon whilst presenting at as an invited preferred supplier, I got the chance to talk about the plans for their plans and discuss the photography of their wedding.
With a wonderful touch to their plans, I discovered that Emma + Mark live in the grounds of Weston Park, adding a truly personal connection to the Staffordshire wedding venue.
On the lead up to their wedding I actually had the chance to spend a little time with Emma and Mark exploring the grounds, visiting areas we never get chance to visit come the day of the wedding. If you have a few minutes, you can check out the photos from that day here. I loved how they both carried on regardless of the rain…and how the twins George and Henry just slept the whole time!
Come the day of Emma + Mark’s wedding, the weather started grey, with the promise of glorious sunny spells, and we were certainly not disappointed!
My coverage began in the morning capturing Emma and the bridal party’s preparations in the hands of the fabulous Rachel Savine on makeup, and a friend of the family Jenny Roberts on hair duty. The whole atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed, listening to ClassicFM really helping to keep the mood relaxed. I couldn’t help but enjoy reminiscing over my days of orchestral playing across the midlands over the years…I really must find time to get back to playing some day soon…
From the relaxed morning in the Drawing Room with the bridal party, it was soon time for Mark to arrive after his maybe not-so-relaxed morning at home looking after the boys. Emma + Mark’s children from the twins George and Henry, and Mark’s children Millie, Harry and Maisie, really played such a wonderful role on the day of the wedding, and from capturing their preparations right through the day, they were all fabulous!
The boys certainly scrubbed up very well indeed and I just loved the matching mini-outfits too! Fabulous quality suits from Moss Tailor Me and Peter Posh.
With the close proximity of both the bridal party and the groom and the boys getting ready, it was great to be able to split my time between them both, capturing a truly complete story of the wedding morning before the ceremony at St Andrews…
As the boys left for the church, bang on time I should add – good work with the twins there Mark!, I headed back to the bridal party just in-time for the finishing touches as Emma dressed in her truly fabulous gown from the wonderful Maggie Sottero, supplied by Mix’n’Match Bridalwear.
How gorgeous are those flowers from Lynne at Fine Flowers alongside the beautiful Maggie Sottero dress…
With the church of St Andrews being only a short walk away, it was fabulous to walk with the bridal party and document their journey through the gardens to the church for the wedding ceremony.
Arriving at the church to the waiting vicar, I was soon inside to capture the face of our waiting groom, and also in time to capture a lovely moment as the vicar had a private prayer with Mark ahead of fetching Emma…very touching to see…
I remember the first time I photographed a wedding at St Andrews Church in Weston I found the lighting so dark and tricky to capture the best images, but it has to be said, with the new cameras we’re using this year, I’m truly blessed to be able to capture the story completely!
With the space around the front of the church allowing a freedom of movement, and the truly silent cameras, capturing the wedding ceremony was completely unobtrusive…
From the fabulous recessional down the aisle, it was outside for the awaiting masses of confetti…
Leading the guests from the church towards the garden walk, we stoke a couple of minutes to head to Emma + Mark’s own garden for a couple of photographs ahead of the drinks reception back at the main house…
During the drinks reception it was great to capture the few necessary family group photographs, ahead of exploring the grounds with the couple…
The gardens and grounds at Weston Park are always stunning, but at the start of summer they are quite possibly at their best, and with the beautiful summer weather blessing the day, it was fabulous to take a few minutes away with just Emma + Mark ahead of the wedding breakfast…
The dressing of the Dining Room for the breakfast was very simple, choosing the highlight the theme of pearls and blue with the candelabras from Fine Flowers set off with the top table flowers.
Following the wedding breakfast it was time for the speeches, with our groom Mark leading proceedings ahead of Emma and then the best man.
What a fabulous way to cut the cake…and straight in there for a taste too!
The grand staircase in the marble hall at Weston has always been a favourite feature of mine to use, and following the wedding breakfast and speeches, it was great to take a couple of minutes with the bride and groom before the evening started to get underway!
From the starring moment of George and Henry, it was time for the dancefloor to be handed over to our Bride and Groom to get the evening reception truly underway…
It really is safe to say the night really never slowed as soon as it got underway, just what you want when capturing a wedding story!
From classic 90’s tunes, and the dances to go with them, to everyone just rocking out, the party led by Dave Dee Discos, was just perfect!
It was wonderful to be at Emma and Mark’s wedding throughout the whole day, truly capturing the whole story from morning preparations through to the very end of the night. A true story of the day that was a treat to capture.
And it wouldn’t be a coverage for me if I didn’t take a few minutes to head outside with the Bride and Groom for evening portraits to conclude their story in true style!
Emma and Mark, it was truly an honour and a pleasure to be part of your day and to capture your story for you. I cannot wait to bring the full story together in the next few days!
Thank you for entrusting the documenting of your most precious day to me – I truly had a blast!
Cannot wait to see the film produced by Andy of Zeus Films for Weston Park from your day!!
