Creative Documentary Wedding Photography of a gorgeous February Wedding at Pendrell
Kat + Marc came to hear of my photography from a recommendation from a fabulous friend of mine, who just happens to be one of the very best wedding florists around, Lynne from Fine Flowers!
From the first time we sat down and discussed their wedding, it was clear an unobtrusive documentary coverage was going to be perfect for them both, which was perfect for me!
We did manage to spend a little together on the lead-up to the day along with their incredibly cute daughter Lucy at the Wolseley Centre, a gorgeous countryside setting that was really perfect for a shoot!
Come the day of the wedding my coverage started with brief moments capturing the final preparations of our bride with Rachel Lamey Hair and Beauty ahead of the arrival of our groom and the best men.
Blessed with gorgeous weather, quite remarkable for February, the day could not have been better…

The ‘wedding acceptance’ card from Marc to Kat was very sweet indeed!
Not sure who was taking who for a walk here, but Lucy and Sarah, the moth of the bride, definitely seemed happy enough to explore the fabulous Pendrell Hall. Being a private and exclusive use property really is perfect for weddings, especially with children as guests…

There were so many gorgeous and simple touches to the day, with little K&M signs…and a rather larger version seen later too!! The flowers and hire items from Lynne at Fine Flowers really were perfect for the styling on the day!

Leaving the bridal party upstairs, it was great to capture the arrival of the guests…
A truly precious moment to photograph, as the Bride and Father of the Bride share a few private minutes together before the ceremony.
Capturing one of my favourite ‘moments’ of the day…the entrance of the bride, documenting the story from the change in expression and emotion from the groom, to the moment then greet each other before the ceremony…
The switch this year to the truly fabulous Fuji cameras has brought so many advantages to the way I can photograph a wedding, with the truly silent shutter and operation being one of them… When working in such close proximity to the Bride and Groom, not disturbing the moment, or indeed being noticed is so important…
Coming out to a private performance from the outstanding Ashmore Acoustics was such a lovely moment to capture for Kat + Marc. Liam and Matt are truly fabulous! Quite possibly the best ‘wedding musicians’ I have had the pleasure of working with! I thoroughly recommend you check them out!
Confetti exit and group photograph before the drinks reception.
It has always been so important for me to ensure my photographs capture the day, rather than turning the day into a photoshoot.
I love giving the couple and the guests the maximum amount of time to relax and enjoy themselves, capturing the essential group photographs quickly (8 minutes is my record for 15 groups I think!!) and never taking the couple away from the party for too long whilst capturing the great portrait photographs either…
Telling the story of the wedding is what it’s about…
The grounds at Pendrell Hall are truly beautiful for photographs and I love how they change through different seasons, from the spring when I photographed Shell + Ed‘s wedding, to the late summer when I had the pleasure of capturing Jen + Gary‘s amazing day, exploring the grounds towards the end of winter with Kat + Marc was a real treat!
The bouquet from Fine Flowers was just perfect! Set against Marc’s suit from Mears Tailoring and Kat’s dress from KissXX Bridal, nothing could have been better!
Following a brief trip around the grounds, it was back to capture the guests enjoying the drinks reception with live music from the fantastic Ashmore Bros – can you tell I was impressed by those guys?
As the guests were entering in to the room for the wedding breakfast, I stole a couple of minutes with Kat + Marc in the front courtyard for a couple of photographs ahead of the meal…
The styling for the wedding breakfast was so simple, with the candelabras and flowers from Fine Flowers setting the room off perfectly!
Such a great moment to capture, the entrance of the Bride and Groom to their waiting guests!
The speeches are always a highlight to capture, with the Father of the Bride opening the proceedings perfectly!
Marc followed, leaving himself open to attack from the Best Man afterwards, set a perfect balance between entertaining the guests and getting the emotions flowing!
Bringing proceedings to a close, the best mans speech was hilarious!
Keeping things simple, there were only a few additional guests to the evening, all ready for a great night with plenty of gin and live music!
The cake from Laura Jane Cake Design was truly fabulous!
From the relaxing drinks reception, it was time to get the party well and truly started!
Before finally bringing the coverage to a close, with a couple of signature portraits of the Bride and Groom.
