Beautiful Summer Wedding at The Crows Nest | Wedding Photographs at The Waterfront Barton Marina
When Charlotte first got in touch back in March last year, she said, “we have been looking around for a photographer and many people have mentioned your name as one of the best around”. I do love couples coming to me from a personal recommendation!
At the time it didn’t click, and little did I realise at that point, I’d photographed her brother as best man the previous year!!
When I sat down with Charlie and Mike to talk about the plans for their day, I couldn’t wait to photograph their day at The Crows Nest, Barton Marina. I’ve enjoyed using the fabulous setting of Barton Marina many times over the years, but Charlie and Mike’s wedding was to be the first wedding I’d captured there…and what a fabulous day it was!
My day started capturing the preparations of Charlie and the girls at the Edge family home, being well and truly looked after by Charlie’s dad Martin on both coffee and bacon sandwich duty! How to get the photographer on side ;-)
Here’s a look at their day…
The flowers and the venue styling from Kerry at Sorella Events were just stunning!!
The makeup from the Clinique make-up artist was just perfect for Charlie and her mom Sandra…
Love this little look between Charlie and her dad…
Don’t think I’ve been this well looked after on a wedding morning since Rachel and Andy’s wedding a couple of years ago! Definitely put an extra big smile on my face!!
The hair from the ladies at C1 Hair was just as spot on as the makeup. Charlie + Mike certainly chose well with their suppliers!! ;-)
From time relaxing, it was soon time for the big moment…the dress! And what a dress it was!
Charlie visited The White Rose and The Perfect Fit for her stunning gown and her bridesmaids gowns.
Oh how I love documenting this part of the wedding morning! Martin’s face here is just…everything about this moment… Love it!
As the girls await their bride coming down to them, the finishing touches are made…
Leaving Charlie and the girls, I took my leave and headed over to the fabulous Crows Nest at The Waterfront at Barton Marina…
The room decorated by Sorella Decor was just stunning. So simple, but so effective, with the hessian chair backs matching the tones of The Crows Nest perfectly.
I did love the choice of transport for their wedding, with Dorothy – the VW from MoonstruckVW – looking perfect for the wedding!
The mood in the ceremony room was so beautifully relaxed…I especially loved this moment as Charlie mom was greeted by Mike’s mom and dad!
It was soon time for the procession of our bridal party, so it was over to Ashley from GC Events who was looking after the day as Master of Ceremonies…
So much beauitful emotion and such a wonderful connection to capture here as Charlie makes her entrance on her father’s arm…
From the fabulous ceremony, it was time to enjoy the perfect summer weather as the guests headed out to the gardens for the drinks reception.
From the drinks reception it was time to capture the relaxed family groups, then explore the fabulous waterside setting with our Bride and Groom…
After a few minutes making the most of the setting at Barton Marina, it was into The Crows Nest for the wedding breakfast, preceded by the speeches!
Following the rousing entrance of the new Mr & Mrs, it was over to the Father of the Bride to open the speeches…
Now I think Martin was saying Charlie found her Prince… :-)
From the emotion and entertainment of Martin’s Father of the Bride’s speech, it was over to our Groom…
After our Best Woman’s speech, it was time for the wedding breakfast…
…as we headed to the bar downstairs for our food…and damn was it good :-)
Bringing proceedings to a close with the gifts, it was great to have a little time to head back out and use the gorgeous golden light on the lakeside with Charlie + Michael ahead of the party getting started!
Really do love the suits that Michael and the boys hired from Dapper Dans – cracking colour ties that were complimented perfectly by the flowers and of course, matched the bridesmaid’s gowns perfectly!
The rustic naked cake from Kathryn’s Homemade Cakes looked delicious!
From the cake cutting, it was over to the boys at GC Events to get the night started with the first dance, ahead of the band taking over for their first set.
The Shenanigans certainly got the party going in full force!!
Alas, the time flew by and it was soon time to conclude my coverage of Charlie + Mike’s day, with a few signature portraits on the stunning waterfront at Barton Marina…
What a day! Truly a fabulous setting for the most wonderful of wedding that I just loved being part of. It was brilliant to see everyone having the best of times, and with the weather truly on our side, nothing could have worked better…
Charlotte + Michael, it truly was a pleasure to share your day and capture your story. I cannot wait to bring the finished story together with you both…
