Moxhull Hall Wedding Photographs
Creative Wedding Photographs of Katie + Edd’s Summer Wedding at Moxhull Hall
I love the variety that comes with my job as a photographer – and with three weddings back-to-back on the weekend, this get’s highlighted!
From Rachel + Dan’s St Austin’s Church + The Moat House wedding to the wedding blessing and celebrations for Thea + Peadar at St Mary’s Church + Oak Farm Hotel, I was back to one of my favourite venues for a wedding with a completely different feel!
Moxhull Hall is a venue I love working at – and I couldn’t believe it had been a couple of years since I had been there for Kelly + Adam’s wedding – and with stunning summer weather on our side, I knew Katie + Edd’s day was going to be something special.
Summer Wedding at Moxhull Hall
After only speaking on the phone and via email, I got to meet Katie + Edd on the lead up to their day. Meeting at Moxhull Hall allowed us time to walk and talk through the plans and ideas for the day, and helped to build the excitement for the couple!
My coverage of their wedding story began with the morning preparations for both Katie and Edd with them both getting ready on-site.
The mood in the room was so fabulously relaxed. Katie’s hair and makeup were looked after by Kelly Winward, with mom Pam and sister Steph enjoying the early afternoon.
It was again another reminder of how small this world we live in is – as the conversation flowed, we realised that we’d played in the same Orchestra’s and within the same music service growing up – oh I do miss my playing days! Anyway, back to the wedding story:

The arrival of two seriously excited flower girls!!

Grooms Preparations in the Cottage at Moxhull Hall
Leaving Katie with flowers in her hair (I love Sandi Thom‘s track from a few years ago ???? ) it was over to the cottage to see how the boys were getting on!
Edd has chosen a fabulous bespoke suit tailored by Colmore Tailors and had managed to match the ties perfectly to the dresses too! The groomsmen all scrubbed up pretty damned well in their suits hired from Dancers too.

Bridal Preparations at Moxhull Hall
With the boys suited and booted, it was back to our bridal party. Katie looked stunning in her dress from Georgina Scott Bridal with Steph and the flower girls Beth and Penny looking the perfect attendants!

With fantastic summer weather blessing us, it was fabulous to see the guests enjoying the beautiful setting of Moxhull Hall as they arrived for the wedding in the gardens.

With the scene being set with beautiful music from Edd’s father’s friends from The Birmingham Philharmonic, it was terrific to see Edd wasn’t getting too nervous!

With our bridal party ready – complete with the recently fetched hat for mom!! – it was time for a grand entrance to the wedding ceremony!

Wedding in Calliopes Garden Moxhull Hall
Weddings in the stunning garden setting at Moxhull Hall. Calliopes Garden is an idyllic setting, with the ability to unobtrusively capture the ceremony from a few angles.

Candid Wedding Photographs
From the confetti exit, it was time to let the guests relax and greet the new Mr & Mrs!
Capturing natural, candid wedding photographs of the guests enjoying the wedding is so important to our coverage, and so much better than endless group photographs! Of course, they came later, but not before a few drinks were enjoyed by everyone!

The ice cream bike from Living the Cream – what an ace name!! – went down very well with the guests, and this photographer too!! ????

Creative Wedding Portraits | Weddings at Moxhull Hall
The grounds at Moxhull Hall are wholly stunning and come alive at different times of the day as the light moves around.
Taking just a few minutes from the afternoon, it was wonderful to capture a set of relaxed portraits of the stunning Mr & Mrs Franklin!

Relaxed Storytelling Wedding Photography at Moxhull Hall
After a few minutes with our bride and groom, it was back to capturing the guests enjoying the drinks reception on the terrace ahead of the wedding breakfast.

Marquee Wedding Reception at Moxhull Hall
Following the newly paved route to the marquee from the gardens, it was time for guests to enjoy the wedding breakfast!
The flowers from Emily at From Me To You looked fabulous and brought the relaxed theme together perfectly.

Wedding Speeches at Moxhull Hall
From Edd enjoying his bonus dessert – Edd and Katie had different favourites from the tasting, and Gary had remembered this and brought out the bonus for Edd – it was time for the speeches!
Always an absolute highlight to photograph, I love capturing the reactions to the stories.

Golden Hour Portraits – Elegant Wedding Portraits at Moxhull Hall
From the fabulous speeches, I had to make the most of the perfect timing for photographs in the gardens with Katie + Edd. As the sun had moved around, it provided the most beautiful light across the top gardens:

Evening Reception Photographs at Moxhull Hall
From the drinks reception greeting the evening guests, it was time for cutting the cake – and nearly losing a tooth on the icing!! – And then over to the Ceilidh to get the night started! I do love a good Ceilidh!!

Alas, all too soon, my coverage came to an end, but not before taking my Bride and Groom outside for a couple of final photos:

Katie and Edd it was an absolute honour to share your day and capture your story! Such a perfect day from start to end!
