Creative Documentary Wedding Photography by Staffordshire Wedding Photographer Rugeley
One wedding, two photographers (thank you Steve!), two reindeer and one stunning Christmas theme…what a way to conclude my year!
It’s not every wedding you have to contemplate shooting with a cast, but a slip on the December ice made this a reality. Thankfully, my ace brother Steve was on hand…!
The occasions we get to work together capturing a wedding is pretty special. With Steve adding his spin on capturing the story and adding an alternate angle on the key moments. What a bonus for Chantelle and Paul that they got us both!!
It had been a few years since I had been to St John’s Church in Armitage, Rugeley, and what a pleasure it was to be back. With a vicar who understood the importance of photography, we were able to capture the story exactly as we wished.
Mine and Steve’s coverage started a few minutes from the church, with the final bridal party preparations.
With the hair and makeup in the hands of Jamie Scissorhands and Amanda Small and a fabulous group of friends and family, it was entertaining!

The flowers from Peggy Marie were perfect for carrying off the Christmas/Winter theme.
Chantelle added a personal touch to the bouquet with her mom’s wedding ring and her grandad’s ring tied with blue ribbon.

Oh, how tempting to caption this with the story being told by Caz!

Leaving the bridesmaids to their finishing touches, it was time for the gown from Lulu Ann.

The perfect dress for Chantelle, and I love how she described “looking like a snowflake”! They truly nailed the winter / Christmas theme!!

Time for the grand reveal. Love that Steve was capturing the opposite angle to me here!

Leaving the bridal party, it was over to the church to capture the arrival of our Groom.

Our boys arrived in style, courtesy of a surprise from Chantelle! Platinum Cars are the best in the game! Have to say they looked very dapper too in their suits from Duncan James!

Would many wedding car companies take the trouble to head to the bride’s house to wish them all the best on the wedding day? And then offer a free lift for the Mother of the Bride and the Chief Bridesmaid to church? Paul from Platinum Cars is a class act!!

Wedding transport with a difference for the Bridesmaids, arriving in a T3 Transporter! Brilliant!

Leaving Steve with our Bride, while I headed to capture the Groom’s emotions, I love this little capture:

Second time in two weeks I wished I was recording audio…such a great reading!

From the first journey as husband as wife to the brief family groups (in freezing temperatures!), it was time for the confetti bombardment!!

After thawing out on the journey to the Moat House, it was only right to make the most of the gorgeous conditions and steal our bride and groom for portraits around the gardens. The guests were being entertained by the reindeer after all!!

Sorry Bradders, this one cracked me up too much not to share!!

I couldn’t have been happier that the sun managed to burn through the clouds for our arrival at The Moat House, it made the shoot around the grounds perfect!

Talking of those reindeer…

After a few stolen moments in some of the most beautiful light of the year, it was time for the wedding breakfast.

I love how Chantelle and Paul hoarded the decorations for their wedding for a whole year, having made the most of the post-Christmas sales in 2016! Talk about forward-thinking!!

With the choice of heading straight into speeches, there was no delay in getting proceedings underway…with mild heckling and friendly abuse from the start!!

It felt quite strange my coverage finishing as the afternoon wound away, but of course, we had to complete the story with a few signature portraits.

And that was the conclusion of a truly fabulous 2017! I could not have wished for a better end! Well, maybe capturing the fabulous party with the band and both the Father of the Bride and the Groom taking a spot on drums!
Once again a massive thank you to Steve for shooting with me to ensure we captured the perfect coverage for Chantelle and Paul!
And to Chantelle and Paul – huge congratulations once again! We truly loved capturing your day!
