Weston Hall Weddings
Nicola + Ian’s Intimate Summer Stafford Wedding by Stafford Wedding Photographer Stuart James
On a gorgeous Wednesday morning in August, I had the pleasure of heading to one of my favourite venues, Weston Hall for the wedding of Nicola + Ian.
Nicola and Ian came to me to photograph their Weston Hall wedding only a few months ago. But my knowledge of the venue, and my relaxed approach, really fit with them.
With my coverage on their wedding day starting with a few traditional portraits at home. With Mom and Dad, and the dogs, before the primary coverage commenced at Weston Hall.
With only a short coverage, it was the perfect way to start a mental two weeks of weddings – and a stunning way to start.
Nicola + Ian’s wedding was also the first time I’d had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of a Royal Marine Commando. Which with this being the last time Ian was to wear the uniform, was all the more special.

Leaving our Groom to relax with the boys, I was back downstairs to await the arrival of our bride with Platinum Cars.
The emotion with Nicola’s best friend and bridesmaid was so beautiful to see and to photograph, how can you not love seeing such a display of emotion!
Returning to the waiting Groom, he was one cool customer! Not a sign of nerves!!
With the wedding so intimate it was beautiful, and so much emotion and laughter during the ceremony.
I have always loved the wedding cars, and more importantly the service, from Platinum Cars.
Leaving the guests to enjoy the drinks reception, I stole a few minutes with our Bride and Groom around the gardens of Weston Hall.
With an intimate wedding, it was lovely to see how Nicola + Ian had kept the decoration so simple too. With the butcher’s bike and the martini vases from Fine Flowers, looking perfect for the day.
From the Father of the Bride’s speech and all the significant reactions, it was over to our Groom.
During the speech, many great stories were shared by Ian, but the one that stuck with me was the diary entry of when he first met Nicola. In a bar, a very classy Cannock establishment, Silks! But that lady made a big impression, and he couldn’t wait to find her when returning from his next tour of duty!
With no official Best Man, it was down to a fellow marine, to raise a toast to our Groom.
Such a beautiful touch was presenting the Bride with a Royal Marine Commando pin. “Once a Marine, always a Marine”.
Nicola and Ian, can I just say again, a huge congratulations! It was such a pleasure to share in and capture your wedding, and although a short coverage, it was a pleasure to bring together with you.
I love how your album tells the story of your day, and hope it’s treasured forever.
