Hayley + Andy’s Stunning Spring Wedding by West Mill Wedding Photographers
The most idyllic of setting styled to perfection, and with wonderful people – this was pretty amazing!
I first met with Hayley + Andy when they were starting to bring the plans together for their wedding. Meeting at Hawkesyard in Rugeley, we got to talk about their plans, and soon realised my style was perfect for their day.
When I discovered their venue was so new – and so incredibly stunning – I honestly could not wait to capture their day!
On the lead up to the wedding, I got to visit the venue with Hayley, Andy and their two beautiful girls Keira and Isla-Rose.
Getting together had such an advantage leading up to the day, not only allowing me to see the venue but also to get everyone comfortable being photographed. Spending time photographing both Hayley and Andy, and the girls, brought a comfort for everyone leading to the day.
When we were talking of the plans for the day, I was delighted when Hayley + Andy added film coverage to their story. PhotoFilms and filming is something I have offered for a couple of years, though not promoted – this is about to change! I just LOVED capturing the extra coverage. Reliving the beautiful moments of the ceremony and the speeches added to a connection for both myself and all the wedding party!
My coverage on the day for Hayley + Andy started with the arrival of our bride with her hair and makeup artists. It was terrific to work with Jennifer-Lee again, whose makeup looked perfect on Hayley. The hair styling by Jenny from The Hairshop was spot-on!
The feeling in the room was magical to be around. From the laughter between friends and family to the entertainment provided my Isla-Rose, I was spoilt with moments to capture!
The next pair of photos make me smile – and I spoke about it during the live blog a few days ago – a classic case of sisters being sisters:
The styling of the West Mill has such character kept from its industrial part. I just fell in-love with everything about the venue!
This little sequence of images makes me smile. From that look on Isla-Rose’s face to placing the Mother of the Bride’s hat on my head to her reaction – brilliant!
As the quests started arriving, I headed down to capture the next part of the story. Keep moving up and down the flights of stairs at The West Mill certainly keep you in shape!!
Heading back to the ceremony room to capture a couple of final details that had just been applied, Andy was taking a moment listening to the pianist and cellist playing. The expression and emotion building was magnificent to witness and capture.

From capturing the beautiful reactions of the Father of the Bride, it was time to catch our groom.
Just holding the emotions in check, the whole scene was amazing to capture, especially as the girls walked down the aisle.
Having the freedom to capture the ceremony was fabulous, but it was also re-living the moments through the video that was special.
The beautiful readings by the grandma and brother were great to witness.
The emotion on display – especially from Keira – was beautiful.
From a couple of minutes alone with the girls, it was time to re-join the guests starting with the confetti bombardment!
From the family photographs in the courtyard, it was great having time to explore the beautiful industrial surroundings and make the most of the setting with the bride and groom.
Hayley + Andy were both a real joy to photograph, and with the stunning dress complimented by the fantastic bouquet (Twisted Willow). Andy looked fabulous in his suit from Blooms Menswear – they know how to kit out the guys!
The decoration for the wedding breakfast was marvelous. The table length floral runners were beautiful, complimented by the 87 candlesticks the couple lovingly collected!
Loved capturing this little moment with Hayley + Andy.
As everyone knows – I love photographing speeches, and Hayley + Andy’s speeches were no different. From the love and laughter – more laughter!! – from the Father of the Bride, it was the tear-jerking poem from Keira that stole the show.
From the emotional speech of Keira, it was over to the boys, with Andy having to get his football reference in; it’s good to know Hayley’s a4 ‘keeper’ though :)
Following the speeches in a great plan, it was outside for everyone for a sparklers exit for our bride and groom, ahead of the evening reception.
No comment needed…
Andy very proud of his flick-and-drop of the dress :) He learns quickly!!
Love the background for the cake cutting shot here – and what a cake it was too, created by Harpers Cake Boutique.
Alas, my coverage came to an end all too soon, but not before a few signature portraits to conclude the story.
Hayley + Andy – wow, what a wedding! I just adored capturing your day! Your choice of venue, your touches of styling, the raw emotion and the wonderfully relaxed feel – I couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Can I once again say a huge congratulations to you both – thank you for entrusting the capturing of your memories to me!
