Lucy and Stuart first came to me to discuss the plans for their wedding at the Upperhouse in Barlaston when I saw them at the Stone House Hotel, and sitting down a little over a year ago and discussing the finer details of the day, it was clear my natural, unobtrusive wedding photography would fit perfectly with their midweek wedding in the company of their closest friends and family.
The Upperhouse in Barlaston near Stone is a beautiful setting for a wedding, a location I’ve enjoyed working at before, and fortunately with good weather on our side for most of the day, Lucy + Stuart’s wedding was a true pleasure to be part of. From morning preparations at Lucy’s parents house, complete with the backdrop of a teenage music fan’s posters in Lucy’s sisters room, through the wedding day at the Upper House, to the great party on the evening with live music from JayMo set the tone for a perfect conclusion to the day.
There were so many wonderful touches to the day, with a great colour chosen as the theme of the day with TicTac Lime and Orange featuring throughout – from the wedding stationery to the personalised and simply amazing Converse trainers for the Bride and all of the Bridesmaids! Brilliant!
I actually got to spend a little time in the lead up to the big day with Lucy and Stuart, and we enjoyed a great shoot in February up on Barlaston Downs, just a stones throw from the Upperhouse, and having spent that time together, it really cemented the trust and understanding between us all, and also led to a fabulously relaxed Bride and Groom during the portrait session on the wedding day when we were around the grounds of the Upperhouse.
Here is a little look at their wedding day from a couple of weeks ago.
I saw this and it definitely made me smile!
With Lucy’s brother being in the RAF I loved the link with the Onyx Art Spitfire Cufflinks for Lucy’s dad David’s shirt.
Lucy looked stunning in her dress from Eve’s collection, and topped off with the fabulous custom converse, David’s reaction when he saw her come down the stairs really says it all.
The boys looked fantastic decked out in their suits – and matching colours plaster cast on Lucy’s brothers arm – from Moss Bros Hire.
The wedding transport for the day was the fabulous Green VW Splitscreen camper from VW Occasions really was the perfect choice for their big day.
It really was a pleasure to share the wedding of Lucy and Stuart with their friends and family and be the photographer for Upperhouse Wedding. I hope you enjoyed sharing this little look into their day.
