Last month I had the privilege of being invited by David and Bethan to capture their wedding story as they tied the knot in the stunning setting of The Tythe Barn in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
I had actually first met David when I photographed his brother’s wedding at the Moat House, Acton Trussell. A few weeks prior to the big day, we managed to sync our schedules and meet up in Birmingham to get Bethan and David used to being in-front of the camera, and of course allow me to get the know them both a little better too.
From spending time roaming around the canals of Birmingham City Centre, talking about their time living in the stunning setting of India, and bizarrely ending up next to a building that David wrote his thesis on, and quickly found out there was no problem at all with photographing David or Bethan…except the fact that having a slight height advantage (with the aid of a wall!) would be very beneficial…
Come the day of the wedding, after a relaxing drive to Oxfordshire my day started capturing the final preparations of Bethan and the girls, who were getting ready in the annex of Tythe Barn before capturing the arrival of a slightly nervous groom and very excited guests.
Choosing such a fabulous setting at Tythe Barn with beautiful summer weather upon us, the day could not have been more perfect.
With an outdoor ceremony and no travel involved, the day was incredibly relaxed throughout.
The courtyard setting provides a wonderful intimate atmosphere for the wedding ceremony and drinks reception, with the fields and orchard proving to be simply beautiful for the couples portraits around the grounds.
Having a building with such genuine character, attended by fabulous staff and some of the best chefs I have come across in recent times, the whole wedding was an absolute pleasure to be part of.
