A couple of weeks ago I was I was in the countryside village of Scropton to photograph Harriet and Andrew’s wedding at St Pauls Church ahead of their wedding breakfast and reception at the ever popular and stunning Sandon Hall.
After meeting with Harriet + Andrew a couple of weeks before their wedding at the Dog & Doublet in Sandon I knew that although I was only going to be with them and their friends and family for a short period, that we would capture a great photographic record for them.
The day was a glorious sunny afternoon and it was a pleasure to be too hot rather than too cold for a change!
Here are some of my favourites from their day.
Set in the beautiful village of Scropton in Derbyshire, St Pauls is a stunning little church. Being surrounded by greenery is always such as bonus.
The layers of emotion from Harriet, her father and her groom all paint such a wonderful picture, each person having their own individual moments; the nervous moment for Harriet about to enter the church, an excited expectant groom waiting at the alter, and one very proud father about to walk his daughter to start her new life with Andrew.
There really is something spectacular about a traditional church wedding.
Arriving at Sandon Hall thankfully the weather had remained with us and we were able to relax on the front whilst awaiting the guests arriving.
The indoor features of Sandon always make it an absolute favourite for me to work at; with the stunning traditional staircase, the beautiful windows and the conservatory all providing stunning settings for wedding portraits.
And of course the gardens look spectacular in early summer.
As part of the work on the gardens last year for a Harrowby family wedding, this stunning archway was erected.
Thank you for letting me share your Sandon Hall wedding Harriet + Andrew, it truly was a pleasure.
