Creative Documentary Wedding Photography of this beautiful summer wedding!
I’ve always loved the combination of St Michaels Church in Penkridge and The Moat House, and with the stunning Jess + Billy I knew this was going to be a wedding to remember!
A few months ago I had the opportunity to spend a little time with Jess + Billy at the beautiful Trentham Gardens. Not only did the shoot allow me to get a little closer to Jess + Billy, but we captured some pretty fab portraits too!

Jess + Billy brought so many fabulous touches together for their wedding. When we sat down to talk details, I just knew the whole was going to be perfect!
With Design Elegance on venue styling and Lavender Florist on the flowers, choosing Silk Bridal for the wedding gown and Duncan James for the suits – it was all sure to look fantastic!
My coverage of Jess + Billy’s Penkridge wedding commenced with the preparations at Jess’ parent’s house in Penkridge. The atmosphere was fabulous to be around – full of laughter and very chilled out! Just the way I like my wedding mornings to start!
As a fabulous and unique present for Jess + Billy’s wedding, Jess’ brother Alex + Rach paid for their wedding video – Shoot it Yourself video!
A unique idea and I’m looking forward to seeing the edited film together!
Penkridge Church Wedding
Leaving the flower girls enjoying themselves, and Jess and the bridesmaids in the fabulous care of Xposure Hair Design and Holly Baker on Makeup, it was off to The Moat House to see how our groomsmen were getting on!
Walking into the library, the boys were all suitably calm and looked very dapper in their suits from Duncan James. Billy’s choice of the double-breasted waistcoat and the bowtie was spot on!

With the boys all ready to head for a cold one, it was back to the bridal house.
Must admit, it was the first time I’d photographed a guinea pig cuddled up to a bride :)
Jess had chosen fabulous wrap dresses for the bridesmaids, and with all hand-on-deck to help each other in their robes, the bridesmaids were soon looking incredible!
After catching this little moment with the bridesmaids, it was time for Jess to get into her beautiful gown from Silk Brides – and what a gown (and veil!) it was!
A lovely touch too with Denise’s dad’s sixpence tied onto Jess’ shoe.
Jess’ dad arrived perfectly in time for the grand-reveal of the stunning Bride – his face says it all!

With our bridal party ready for the wedding, it was time to head to the church to capture the arrival of our Groom and the guests!
Capturing the exciting arrivals, and the developing emotions of the groom, really take you to how it felt at the church ahead of the wedding.
From the cutest photos of the Flower girls, Jess arrived in fabulous style!
I remember the feeling when I married Beki standing at the front waiting for her; it does become to loneliest place while you’re in your thoughts. I think Billy was going through the same!

Having space and ability to move around the church discreetly really added to the coverage for Jess and Billy’s wedding. Always love having a vicar that’s understanding!!
From the first journey as husband and wife (how gorgeous are Jess + Billy’s expressions on this recession shot?!), it was time to greet the guests before heading for the reception at The Moat House.

Travelling in style with Penkridge Wedding Cars, upon arrival at The Moat House it was time to steal the Bride and Groom while the guests enjoyed the start of the drinks reception!
From our pre-wedding shoot at Trentham last year, Jess + Billy were entirely into the shoot, and we managed to create some fabulous images straight away! Weather on our side, the perfect couple in a fabulous setting, I was thrilled!

From the fun of the confetti, the call for the wedding breakfast came!
The design of the room with the Chiavari chairs, the drapes and the little touches from Design Elegance together with the flowers from Lavender, the Acton Suite looked incredible for the wedding breakfast!
The entrance for the Bride and Groom into the room of guests is always such a highlight to capture!
Straight into one of my favourite sections of the day with the speeches opening proceedings!
From the Father of the Bride’s speech hitting every note correctly, we were set for a good few minutes entertainment!!
Following the entertainment from the Father of the Bride, it was over to the two best men! With their speeches having everything from funny stories, to tears, there were so many unusual reactions from both the Bride and Groom and the guests to capture.
With our best men once again in tears, it was over to the man of the day, our Groom Billy!
From gorgeous looks to tears, to laughter at old stories, Billy’s speech had it all! Top job sir!

Following the wedding breakfast, with the beautiful June weather treating everyone, it was great to see the guests relax on the canal bank. With the sun out, this is one of the best settings to enjoy a wedding evening!

I always love grabbing a few minutes with my couples into the early evening. Ahead of the mayhem of the evening’s celebrations, and utilising the stunning golden hour light, it’s always a favourite part of the day!
Creative Fun Wedding Photography
From the cutting of the gorgeous cake, made by Billy’s auntie, it was over to Highway 21 to get the night started – and what a night it was!!

It’s safe to say; these guys knew how to have a good time! What a great night!!
Night Time Wedding Photos
From not one, but THREE fantastic ending tracks, the story came to the best of conclusions!
A fantastic group of people, a great band leading the way – this was a special night!!
To conclude the story, however, it just had to be a couple of signature nighttime portraits:
