Char + Danny’s Staffordshire Barn Wedding Photographs at Packington Moor
When you have a guy that goes to the lengths of running the London marathon to propose, you know you have someone pretty special… Afterall, who wants to pop-the-question in Paris…even if Char was ready and expecting it ????
Char + Danny are such a fantastic couple, and from the first time I met them, I just knew I was going to love their wedding.
With busy lives and backgrounds across the country, they indeed could have chosen anywhere for their wedding setting. But what a choice they made! The fabulous Packington Moor in Lichfield. One of my all-time favourite venues…and one I’m going to miss sorely!
I met Char + Danny back in the summer of 2016 when they were bringing together the plans for their wedding, and as soon as we sat down at the studio, it was clear how much photos meant to them both…something that always makes me happy!
On the leadup to the big day, I got to spend an afternoon with Char + Danny at the beautiful Birches Valley to get them both used to being in front of the camera, and also to enjoy a little time together, meaning we were far from strangers come the wedding day.
After our wanderings around Cannock Chase, sitting and talking through the details of the wedding day, there were so many personal touches that I knew would make the day even more special. Afterall, it’s not often you can print your wedding ring from Titanium!
So to the wedding… What a day it was! I’ve always loved September for weddings, with the light in the UK having a fantastic quality that time of year, and with the weather indeed on our side, I couldn’t have been happier when I set out to start capturing their day.
Both Char and Danny were getting ready at the beautiful Moor Hall, allowing coverage of both of their preparations by both myself and James Capper on Video duty.
I’ve never been a huge person for ‘details photographs’, but when you have shoes as stunning as these from Charlotte Mills, you just have to capture them!
Leaving the girls in the hands of Jo and Natalie, it was time to head to the boys…
As I got back to Char, the Bridesmaids had taken their leave and headed to Packington, leaving just our bride, one of the bridesmaids and the beautiful flower girl with Char’s dad David… I think it’s safe to say the emotion was starting to build!
Always a favourite moment to witness and capture…
As I left Char to “Keep Her Sh*t Together”, it was time to head to Packington Moor for the wedding.
Our beautiful bride arrived in style for the wedding at Packington with the increasingly popular Love Wedding Cars! Working with those guys so often…fabulous!
As Char was in for her interview with the bridal party, it was nice to see Danny making the most of his miniature of Hendricks. ????
Just holding it together…
The perfect musical accompaniment to the afternoon, with Ben Drummond playing the newly married Mr & Mrs McGee out from the ceremony!
From the confetti fun and the family groups in the gardens, it was time to enjoy a little time with our couple in the stunning countryside setting of Packington…
The flowers from Lynne at Fine Flowers were just stunning!
Time to rejoin the party…
The barn at Packington always looked terrific for the wedding breakfast…just a fabulous space!
The cake from Claire’s Cakes looked fabulous!
Following the wedding breakfast, as gorgeous as ever from Galloping Gourmet, it was time for the speeches, with the Father of the Bride first to the floor…
After the mix of heartstring-tugging emotion and laughter from David, it was over to Danny who seemed to enjoy his time on the floor. ????
And finally…the speech everyone as waiting for, the turn of the Best Man, Wayne!
Top Job Sir!
With the beautiful September weather staying throughout the day, it was fabulous for the guests to be able to relax and enjoy the courtyard as the evening drew in, with James and me grabbing a few minutes with Char and Danny around some of my favourite spots in the Packington Moor grounds…
I didn’t say earlier, too enthralled with Danny’s suit, but Char’s dress was stunning! Well worth rejecting the 34 before it… ????
From our evening portraits in the countryside setting of Packington, it was time to relax with the guests as the evening reception got underway!
Loved spotting this moment as Char + Danny had a private little dance while they thought no eyes were on them ahead of the first dance real!
It was great to see the party get started straight away, helped in no-small-amount by the fabulous band, The Party Brigade! They were brilliant!
After the final duties of the day, aiming that bouquet toss perfectly, it was the conclusion of my coverage, unfortunately, but not before a couple of my favourite signature portraits…
Char and Danny, I have to say what an immense pleasure it was to capture your day from start to end. You are such a stunning couple, which was only highlighted by the beautiful collection of friends and family celebrating with you on your day… A wedding I will never forget!
I’ve enjoyed photographing many fabulous weddings at Packington Moor over the years, and with this as my final one at the venue, it does leave me with a smile!
Thank you for entrusting the documenting of your memories to me. Such a fabulous wedding to be part of! Congratulations once again!
