Weddings at Stafford Registry Office
I love when I get an enquiry that’s a little different, and Kath’s message still makes me smile today:
“Hi Stuart, We are a couple of old fogies (65 and 57), who are planning a low key event as we’ve both been here before. We’re never going to be a picture box couple and action shots are a thing of the past!! Getting ready for the event will be like painting the Forth bridge, and the outcome will probably look pretty similar. So not really sure if you can do anything for us – but if you could have a think and see if you might be able to be creative and turn sows ears into silk purses, please let me know. Thanks, Kath”
As soon as I read Kath’s message I called her straight away, and just knew we were going to have a blast on their wedding!
By the time the day came around, the plans had evolved, but still started with arrivals at Stafford Registry Office ????
An intimate and fun day ensued – Kevin is one great character, and had everyone in fits of laughter throughout the day!
With their closest friends and family coming together to celebrate their day, from the arrivals at the register office to the party on the night, I loved every second capturing Kath + Kevin’s wedding!
Stafford Registry Office Wedding Photographs
This was the first time I’d had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the new Staffordshire Registry Office – and having elected for a Monday wedding, it was fabulous to not feel rushed!
With fabulous touches – including a fabulous colour scheme that came from the daughters all choosing their own dresses, in a mammoth 13-hour shopping spree – the day had the most wonderful vibe.
From walking in on the arm of her son Michael, it was over to our registrar to keep Kevin on task – one naturally funny guy!
Apparently, Kevin wasn’t the only comedian in the room, as when asked if he had the rings, Philip completely dead-pan, said “no!” I don’t think the registrar knew where to look!
Exiting into the glorious sun, it was time to greet the new Mr & Mrs ahead of the reception at the Moat House!
Moat House Intimate Weddings
Arriving at The Moat House, with drinks awaiting the guests, it was fabulous to allow everyone to relax and enjoy the day. From capturing the family photographs under the trees with the lakeside background, it was time to steal a few moments with the Bride and Groom around the stunning setting.
As a fabulous surprise for Kevin, Michael’s fiance Charlotte had arranged a close-up magician to attend the wedding.
It was the one feature Kevin wanted to add to the day, but was told “no” – little did he realise why!
Wedding Breakfast at The Moat House
Keeping things as relaxed and simple as possible, the little touches were brought together by Kerry from Sorella Decor.
The table plan was stunning!
Creative Photographs of the Wedding Speeches
The wedding speeches were incredibly relaxed but very entertaining. Kevin managed to link almost all of the guests in his speech, so great to hear something a little different!
Relaxed Evening Reception at The Moat House
From the speeches, it was time to relax, with the family and friends all mingling on the rear canal-side terrace enjoying the fabulous weather…and a few gins too!
The night saw the arrival of a few extra guests and entertainment from a great Neil Diamond tribute – the perfect entertainment to bring the night together!
Kath and Kevin, what a day! Thank you so much for inviting me to share your wedding, I loved every second capturing your story.
The album is stunning and I cannot wait to present this to you!
