Last month saw me back at a wonderful venue I had not been to for many years, the last time infact in 2010, for Heather + Dave’s fabulous vintage styled wedding at Moor Hall.
Heather and Dave had been planning their wedding for well over a year with us first meeting in July last year, and with my relaxed style and their supremely laid-back approach to life, we really were a perfect and easy match and I just knew the wedding was going to be an incredibly fun day from start to end. A feeling that was only added to when we had their pre-wedding shoot around Lichfield one evening earlier in the summer…a seriously fun couple to photograph!
Choosing to hold their wedding at St Chads Church, again a church I hadn’t been to for a few years, my day started just a few hundred yards around the corner at Heather + Dave’s lovely house with Heather and the girls getting ready under the careful hands of Karen Chesters after having their hair styled at The Cherry Vanilla and despite being one of the quickest make-up-artists I’ve tried to photograph working, the whole vibe was fantastic at the house…with only the tiniest amount of wedding morning stress!
Heather’s family and her bridesmaids are from the Isle of Man, and it was fantastic talking to them during the day, and also the little touches that were brought to the day from the Isle too – from the Fairy on the bouquet watching over Heather, to the TriStar chocolates and of course Heather’s Dad John bringing up the story of the first time when they met Dave, when as a Uni friend of Heather’s he’d wanted to go to the Isle of Man with her, to “see if his sat nav worked” – brilliant!
There were so many lovely touches to the day, and just so much love between Heather and Dave it was amazing to be along to capture their story and their memories.
Here is the story of their St Chads Lichfield and Moor Hall Wedding Photographs by Lichfield Wedding Photographer Stuart James.
The Flowers from Flower Design by Kate looked absolutely stunning!
Heather’s little Manx Fairy watching over the day.
The wedding cars were a complete surprise to Heather and everyone – as Dave had planned them! Here is Heather and the girls getting the first glimpse of the cars as they pulled up…he done good!
I’ve always loved the gardens at Moor Hall Hotel for Bride and Groom portraits, and with the gorgeous warm afternoon light we were blessed with on Heather and Dave’s day, it just added to the magic.
Heather and Dave had put their own stamp on so many parts of the day, from the design of the stationery and the details, to the hand-made bunting decorating the orangery and also the band-stand, and they also made the inspired decision to have a close-up magician who certainly entertained the guests!
I think it would be impossible to not be impressed by the stunning room at Moor Hall how it was all decorated and finished, and Heather’s tears of happiness say it all!
After the hilarity of the magician, and everyone just having a fabulous time, it was the moment everyone was waiting for – the speeches!
…which as you can see, certainly didn’t disappoint!
After the speeches we decided to make the most of the very last of the light for the day and took Heather and Dave back to the gardens…
After capturing the pretty wild dancing, it was time to head outside for the final portraits of the day…
Which I definitely think were worthwhile!
Thank you for inviting me to share your St Chads Lichfield and Moor Hall Wedding Heather and Dave – it really was a huge pleasure!
