At end end of May I had the pleasure of returning to one of my favourite wedding venues, Somerford Hall in Brewood, a venue I have enjoyed working at many times over the years, to capture the wedding of Lucy + Stuart – genuinely two of the nicest people I know, and a couple who’s wedding I was so excited for!
Come the morning of the wedding we were blessed with a stunning summers day, with stunning sunshine making the day perfect from the start.
From documenting Lucy’s preparations under the careful hands of Gemma Neville – Dream Bridal Hair, surrounded by her closest friends and family as they all prepared for the fabulous day ahead.
I had the chance to spend a little time with Lucy + Stu, and their gorgeous daughter Ellena a few weeks before the wedding when we all headed to Birches Valley in Cannock, and with spending time together, and getting all of them comfortable in-front of the camera, it was certainly never going to be difficult to make them all look stunning, and from when Lucy came beaming through the room with her stunning make up (by Carrie Hinton) and elegant hair from Gemma, and finished the look off perfectly in the stunning wedding gown from Rebecca Jayne’s at Mix-n-Match she could not have looked more stunning…Stu was definitely a lucky guy, as his face in the ceremony clearly shows!
Though it must also be said that Stu and the boys, in their suits from Slaters – and their fabulous comedy socks, looked very dapper too…
One of the most emotional times of the day for Lucy was when Ellena arrived with Stu’s mom Belinda, and she certainly loved being the centre of attention – so much so she had to be a part of the wedding ceremony stood at the front with the Bride and Groom.
The emotion however wasn’t contained to just Lucy + Stu alone, with notable tears from the parents throughout the day…and why shouldn’t there be!
With the grounds offering the perfect setting for the wedding party to relax and enjoy the day, everything could not have felt more relaxed and fun, with live music during the day – only topped by the fabulous band Flight Deck One, who were fabulous – stunning individual touches from the couple including the handmade flapjack and biscuits to keep the wedding guests going!
From the entrance to the wedding breakfast, which it was fabulous to be included in, through the hilarious and emotional speeches, there really were so many “Magic Moments” for everyone to enjoy.
But it must be said, one of my favourite parts from the wedding, and how I will always judge the wedding party from here on in…the fabulous game of “Flippy Cup”!
A bizarre event brought together with Smirnoff Ice and Hockey players…but so much fun! :)
The wedding day could not have been more amazing, and was such a treat to capture.
