Beautiful September Wedding in the village of Penkridge, Captured by Penkridge Wedding Photographer Stuart James
Jess + James’ wedding at St Michaels Church in Penkridge continued a fantastic September for us.
I met Jess + James at The Moat House Wedding Showcase over a year before their wedding. After meeting at our studio, we all hit it off, and I knew their day was going to be pretty unique!
Jess and James’ day was all about them and their families. With them both having two children, the wedding wasn’t just about them becoming a married couple but bringing their families together.
Choosing fabulously with their venues getting married at St Michael’s Church before heading to The Moat House, with late summer weather on their side, it was a stunner!
My coverage of Jess + James’ day started capturing the bridal preparations at their home in Stafford. With Jess in the fabulous care of Gemma from The Francesco Group and Jennifer Lee on makeup duties, the whole house was so wonderfully relaxed.
Jess’ choice of great suppliers continued with her dress from Claire at Princess Brides and the bridesmaids’ dresses from Lucy Alexander.

James was the absolute cutest, writing individual cards for Jess to open at allocated times from the night before throughout the morning!

Leaving our stunning bride with her bridesmaids, I headed over to Penkridge to capture the arrival of our Groom and groomsmen!
The boys looked fabulous in their suits from Duncan James menswear. The flowers from Lavender Flowers brought the colour scheme together perfectly!
I’ve always enjoyed photographing weddings at St Michael’s Church. With the side aisles and the fantastic amount of space, I’ve always felt the freedom to capture the wedding story fully.
Such a beautiful moment with Jess’ son handing her over to James.
Moat House Stafford Wedding Photographers
From the church, it was down to The Moat House for a fabulous reception. With live music from Nero String Quartet, and the sun fighting through the clouds, it was a perfect setting!
Creative Portraits around The Moat House Gardens
I loved how easy it was to photograph Jess + James – they got into the portraits, and with beautiful lighting, I could not have been happier. I do love a September wedding!!
From the portraits, it was into the wedding breakfast, opened with beautiful speeches from the Mother of the Bride.
From the beautiful rollercoaster of emotions during Joy’s speech, it was time for the man of the day, James to take the floor!
The reactions were beautiful to capture! Finally, it was the turn of our Best Man, Dan, to take the podium for his short but amusing speech!
Evening Photography at The Moat House
There isn’t anything better than a beautiful summer’s evening, and it made the evening for Jess + James and their guests!
As the night was drawing in, it was soon time to cut the cake and get the party started – with a fabulously entertaining choreographed dance!
And with only a few moments of coverage left, there was only one thing for it – our signature nighttime portraits, adding the WOW to the end of Jess + James’ wedding story.
Jess and James, what an honour it was to capture your wedding. You have such a beautiful family, and photographing your day was a pleasure.
