Lisa + Brandon held their wedding ceremony at the beautiful All Saints Church in the grounds of Sandon Hall before heading to the hall for their wedding breakfast and the evenings entertainment.
Being my last wedding of 2012 I was particularly looking forward to the day, and even with the solid rain I knew having such a fantastic venue, and a couple who wanted truly relaxed, documentary photography, it was going to be a great day.
Starting the day at the Swan Hotel in Stafford before heading to the church allowed for the story to start properly.
Lisa got quite emotional with the bag of special gifts for the day from her mother.
And even more emotional when a card from Brandon was delivered…
I love this photograph of Lisa just as she saw her bridesmaids awaiting her.
Having a relaxed vicar allowed me to capture so much more of a story during the ceremony than at some churches, which when Lisa + Brandon look back upon in years to come will be so valuable to them. The discreet documentary photography, capturing those fleeting moments and glimpses at each other were terrific; definitely a privileged position to witness the ceremony from.
I love how proud and happy Lisa’s dad is in the background of this photograph.
Even rain can provide a beautiful setting for photographs.
The grand staircase at Sandon never fails to impress…
The driftwood table plan was so excellently put together, and complimented the room settings perfectly.
Speeches are always one of my favourite parts of the wedding to photograph, and when you look at the expressions it’s easy to see why.
As a break with tradition there was a speech from the Maid of Honor, whom Lisa had lived with for a period and they are still very close.
Sharing your wedding day with people that mean this much to you really is what it’s all about…
Sandon looks stunning at night.
Being the 20th December, Lisa + Brandon’s wedding fell perfectly into the Christmas period and the theme was chosen excellently.
First dance in the stunning saloon, complete with Christmas tree.
And one of my favourite sequences from the day, utilising the falling rain for a stunning set of portraits.
Thank you Lisa + Brandon for entrusting your wedding photography to me, it was a true pleasure to share your day.
