Summer Wedding at The Moat House Acton Trussell
After first meeting Vicki + Ben almost exactly one year ago, I knew their wedding was going to be supremely relaxed and a real pleasure to be part of! And it certainly didn’t disappoint!
Vicki + Ben came to talk to me at The Moat House Bridal Fayre last summer, and with additional endorsement from Vicki’s mom Kay (who knew of my work with Stuart James Imaging!), we soon put together plans to capture their day.
Blessed with fabulous weather on the day we could not have asked for a better setting, with the guests able to enjoy the stunning Moat House grounds throughout the day.
My coverage started in the morning capturing the preparations of Vicki and the girls in the hands of Natalie from Wow Makeup! and Cara from Sally Thomas Hair with a certain flower girl trying to steal the show at every opportunity!
The whole atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed and really good fun from the start… Here’s a look at the start of the day.
The choice of the gown from Adele Louise for Vicki and the yellow bridesmaids dresses from RZ Dressworld were perfect for this summer wedding!
Leaving the girls for a few minutes I took the opportunity to see how the boys were getting on…
Love the ‘tongue of concentration’ here from Ben’s dad Karl as he helped him put on grandad’s ring around his chain…
Vicki + Ben certainly chose well with the details for the day, from the dresses as already discussed and the fabulous suits from Duncan James and the venue styling and flowers from Sorella Events the whole day came together beautifully!

Really could not have asked for more perfect weather, with the sun bursting through the clouds as the afternoon progressed…

Leaving Natalie and Cara to bring the finishing touches together for Vicki, I went to see how Ben’s nerves were holding up…he was only slightly nervous…
A lovely moment as Lexi and Marie held the slightly nervous hand of Vicki…
And so to our waiting groom…
The expression here on Ben’s face says so much…
And after the exchange of glances as Vicki made her way down the aisle on the hand of her mom Kay, so much in both the prior photo and this one:
Amelia, Vicki’s niece, gave a beautiful reading during the ceremony, only adding to the building emotions for everyone…
Signed, sealed and delivered…and covered in confetti!
After a few words of wisdom from Ben’s nan Maureen, it was time to head around the beautiful gardens of The Moat House with the couple…
The flowers from Sorella were truly stunning!
The afternoon raced by and it was soon time for the wedding breakfast, with the room again dressed beautifully by Sorella.
After the speeches and before the evening guests arrived, time allowed for Ben + Vicki to take a trip to Walsall Manor Hospital to visit Ben’s grandad. A really touching story to capture…
Returning to the Moat House, it was time to get the evening reception underway!
With my coverage finishing just after 9pm, and being only a few days after the Summer Soltice, it was only right for a few golden portraits to conclude the day…
