Creative Documentary Wedding Photography of Dani + Jim’s Newton Solney Wedding
From a brief meeting at The Belfry Bridal Fayre at the start of last year, it was immediately apparent that Dani + Jim wanted one thing – a genuinely natural story of their wedding as they had THE BEST time possible. Perfect!!
With everything in place – including the best of wedding planners in the Mother of the Bride, Debbie – the day was set to be fabulously relaxed and just what the couple wanted.
From the ceremony at the beautiful village church of St Marys, Newton Solney, it was just a short journey to the reception in the garden of Jim’s best friend.
The perfect country wedding in beautiful surroundings, blessed with stunning summer weather, a fantastic collection of friends and family, Dani and Jim’s wedding indeed had it all!

The story of Dani + Jim’s wedding began with the final preparations for the bridal party in Lichfield.
The hair and makeup were almost completed ready for the wedding, and time for the stunning dresses from Wedding Belles of Four Oaks.
The flowers by Lily of Flower Design of Lichfield were stunning and brought the theme of the day together!

The flower girls stole the show from the start of the day, with Dani + Jim’s daughters Florence and Francesca looking stunning alongside Lilly and our Bridesmaids Charlotte.
Dani’s choice on the dress was perfect – I just knew Jim would lose it when he saw her!
Newton Solney Church Wedding
Following a short journey into South Derbyshire, it was to the beautiful village of Newton Solney for the wedding at St Marys Church.
Capturing the guests arriving and the emotions building on our groom’s face, it was fabulous to see the reaction when Dani arrived!

Being given the freedom to unobtrusively capture the wedding ceremony, it was beautiful documenting the little moments that make the story so unique. From a glance between the couple to seeing the guests in the background, it all comes together in the narrative.
During the signing of the register, we were all treated to something quite magnificent – an operatic performance from Charlotte, Dani’s sister. Such an incredible voice that reverberated beautifully around the church – a moment to remember and cherish!
Newton Solney Wedding Reception
Following the brief journey down the church lane to the reception, it was terrific to make the best of Rob + Charlotte’s stunning garden for the photographs.
One gorgeous setting – and I must say an honour to be invited in so warmly.
Marquee Garden Reception
From the family photographs and portraits on the lawns, the rest of the day become completely natural. Capturing candid pictures as the guests enjoyed the setting for the drinks reception – and with a few keeping their eye’s on the football – it was beautiful to capture everyone having the best time!
Marquee Wedding Reception
The decor in the marquee was perfect for the relaxed feel of the day. With Lily’s flowers adding a stunning colour to the room, and the light bathing the setting, all was set for an amazing afternoon.
With Dani + Jim’s friend acting as Master of Ceremonies, the scene was indeed set for a grand entrance – and Jim did not disappoint!!
I loved capturing Jim having an impromptu dance with their beautiful daughter Florence – such a precious moment!

Capturing the speeches has always been a highlight for me, and these speeches did not disappoint.
With a rollercoaster of emotions from the Father of the Bride’s speech to the entertaining speeches of Jim and our Best Man Rob, we did have it all!

From capturing the guests enjoying the start of the evening reception, to the cutting of the beautiful cake, I had to steal a moment with our bride and groom ahead of the first dance to make the most of this amazing light:
From the first dance, it didn’t take long for the floor to fill – and it remained that way all night long! Fantastic work from the DJ – Bruno from TheBoomBoxUK!

What a night! Alas, my coverage came to an end all too quickly – or maybe just in time…depends how incriminating the photos may have become… ????
To conclude it was only right for a couple of signature portraits – what a way to end!
