Sam + Samantha (Manf) are such a great couple who literally could not be more chilled out and relaxed – which was such a bonus for their winter wedding at Muncastle Castle, especially when the weather began to turn on us!
I’d been to Muncaster Castle in Ravenglass a couple of years ago when we were staying with our friends in the Lake District a few years ago, but this was the first opportunity I’d had to photograph a wedding in the wonderful setting of Muncaster Castle.
I actually met Sam + Manf through my brother Stephen, as Ste’s really good friends with them, and as soon as they started planning their wedding I was thrilled to be able to be a part of their day, to capture their story, and of course enjoy the wonderful setting. We were hoping to make a great weekend of the trip to Cumbria, however, due to other commitments we had to hit the road again early on Sunday morning to be back in Stafford.
The wedding was an absolute treat to be part of, and despite the rain and gale force winds with over 60mph gusts trying to spoil things, we had a truly wonderful day – and Manf was an absolute star sticking it out in the inclement weather for the group photographs.
Muncaster Castle is a beautiful setting for a wedding with the amazing views, the character of the outside of the building and the stunning interior, it’s a photographers dream. Even down to the wonderful Tom Fools tree outside the castle – which made a fantastic setting for one of my favourite photographs of the day.
The full previews will actually be hitting the blog as a pre-Christmas treat to the couple and their families, but for now I hope you enjoy sharing this preview of their wedding day.
