Moat House Wedding Photographs by Stafford Wedding Photographer
The Moat House is a venue I have had the pleasure of working at countless times over the years from the late ’90s to the present day, and it is such a huge pleasure that each and every wedding is totally unique to photograph, as it is the couple and their guests who make each day…
Stacy + Rob’s wedding in March was a blast to be part of, something I knew would certainly be the case after the huge laugh we had during their pre-wedding portrait session at Birches Valley a few weeks ago.
When a couple bring their characters into a day it always makes things so much more special, and with the amazing attention to detail from Stacy, the styling and presentation with the styling team from Design Elegance could not have been more perfect.
From the thought to include blankets and umbrellas for the guests, to the inspired decision to opt for a Pork Pie Cake, the inclusion of fabulous entertainment from Mark a truly great close magician, the wedding really was perfect from start to end.
My morning started at The Moat House capturing the preparations of Stacy and the girls in the capable hands of Jade + Bubbles from Jabu and Rebecca Frances in control of the makeup for Stacy. I love it when the atmosphere is relaxed on a wedding morning, and as soon as I saw the ‘loud hailer’ I figured we should be in for a fun morning…and thanks to the girls we certainly were!!
From the fun of the preparations to the emotion of the day as our grooms party joined the wedding bedecked in fabulous three-piece suits from Duncan James. Unfortunately Rob’s dad Dave couldn’t join the wedding on the day due to being in hospital, but through the magic of Facetime he was able to see the whole thing – such a special thing!
One of the most beautiful displays of emotion came just before the wedding breakfast, when Stacy’s dad Selwyn – forever remembered as Badger! – first saw his daughter in her beautiful gown from Wedding Belles of Sutton Coldfield. What a reaction! The overflowing of emotion however wasn’t just confined to Selwyn, as the emotion of the day certainly hit out groom Rob during the ceremony too.
From the ceremony, it was by luck that the spring showers disappeared and we were able to make our way out in to the beautiful gardens at The Moat House…only to have to contend with one very grumpy and very protective Swan!
The gardens start to look stunning at The Moat House from spring with the newly flowering daffodils adding to the stunning backdrop.
Following our rather chilly foray around the grounds it was time for the wedding breakfast, proceeded by fabulously entertaining speeches. Always a highlight to photograph!
The day then flowed perfectly into the evening, with the close magic of Magic by Mark really adding to the relaxed atmosphere and keeping everyone entertained before the evening guests arrived and the party could really get started!
The wedding was such a pleasure to be part of…here is just the smallest look at Stacy + Rob’s wedding story from their Moat House Wedding Photographs by Stafford Wedding Photographer Stuart James.
Stacy and Rob, thank you for inviting me into your wedding and trusting me to capture the story of your day. I cannot wait to get the full presentation ready for you!
