Lake District Winter Break | Crompton House, Windermere

Having a few days clear in our diaries before I had two pre-Christmas weddings me and Beki decided to grab a few days away together.
We’d already planned to go up to the Lakes for a few days to see our friends Ed and Sue at Crompton House, but before we headed north we decided to go to Bridgnorth for a couple of days. I found us a great little pub with characterful accomodation online and when we got there we were very happy to see it was at least as good as it had looked!
Beki wasn’t feeling too well unfortunately when we were walking around Ironbridge but some fresh air, and good food later on where we were staying helped her feel better :o)

After a great day and night in Ironbridge we packed the bags back in the car and headed for the Lakes.
When we got there it was strange to see Windermere so incredibly quiet. It seems the bad-news that was spread following the floods in Cockermouth has really hit everyone hard, and if things continue as slow as they were when we were up there it could be a hard few months for everyone…
We had a great time however and made the most of our time up there. It’s greta to get back up to the lakes and see friends, and we were also able to meet up with two of our awesome photography friends, Laura and Pete Lawson of Lawson Photography based in Bolton. They came up and met us for lunch and did a little photo shoot in the last 10 minutes of light by Windermere lake. We cannot wait to see the photos that they’ve done for us and we will definitely be sharing them as soon as we see them :o)
