Summer Wedding Story at St James’ Church + The Moat House Acton Trussell by Staffordshire Documentary Wedding Photographer Stuart James
The Moat House has long been one of our most popular wedding venues, and I always love to see the individuality and creativity each couple bring to their day, making the venue their own… Kate + Tim’s day was always going to be extremely classy, and with the attention to detail from Kate and the suppliers she chose with Tim, the day could not have been more perfect…
I met Kate + Tim at one of the Moat House Showcase Fayres and after we sat down at our studio to talk about their plans in detail, I knew I would be able to capture the perfect story for their day…and have a hell of a lot of fun with them in the process!
A few weeks ago on the lead-up to the wedding, I got to spend a little time with Kate + Tim in Lichfield, helping them get over the little ‘camera-fear’ they were feeling, allowing them to feel truly comfortable in front of camera…and it certainly made the difference on the wedding day!
On the lead up to the day, Kate was checking the weather forecast on an hourly basis, worrying a shower or more could alter and spoil proceedings, however, the only rain came whilst the couple were enjoying the wedding breakfast with their friends and family…the timings could not have been better! For once I’m glad my trusted weather app got timings wrong!!My coverage
My coverage of Kate + Tim’s wedding started with capturing the morning preparations in the hands of the girls from Francesco Cannock and the fabulous Sasha Thomas MUA.
With a fabulous group of best friends and family around her, the mood was just fabulous in the rooms as the girls were getting ready, with Kate + Tim’s gorgeous daughter Marnie only slightly stealing the show…
Taking the opportunity to head downstairs to check on the room and flowers ahead of her turn in the makeup chair, it was fabulous seeing the excitement truly build for Kate…and how could it not with the gorgeous flowers from Lavender and the cake from Amerton Cakes!
Leaving Kate and the girls to get ready, I took the short walk to the church to catch up with Tim and the boys at St James, who were all looking very sharp in their black tie from Peter Posh…
Leaving the guests to head into the church, I took the walk back to the Moat House, capturing the journey of little Marnie with her grandmothers along the way, in perfect time to capture the beautiful Kate coming down the stairs in her dress…
One proud Father right there…
From capturing the arrival of our bridal party, it was time to take up station at the front of the church, and see just how our groom’s nerves were holding up…
It was wonderful to be given the freedom to capture the wedding ceremony from the front of church for Kate and Tim, seeing the reactions on their faces throughout…it really does make such a difference!
From the church, it was straight into the waiting car courtesy of Platinum Cars, electing to head straight to the Moat House just in case the threatening shower appeared…
Have to say a massive “Thank You” to Paul from Platinum for his help as ‘bridesmaid’ for the shoot with the couple, seeing the impending clouds building, he left his duties with the car to come and help. Thanks buddy!
Mercifully the rains didn’t arrive as mentioned, and the light was truly beautiful through the clouds…seriously lucky there guys!!
From the Confetti fun and the family groups, it was great to be able to capture Kate + Tim with their friends and family relaxed on the canal side at The Moat House, rather than taking cover inside…I do like it when the weather’s onside!
Having the opportunity to head back into the grounds with Kate + Tim really completed the afternoon’s couple’s shoot…and with such a gorgeous, classy looking couple, it was a huge pleasure to capture more portraits of them both!
Worth a little friendly abuse to get those reactions ;)
The Acton Suite had been dressed by Bespoke Creations and looked truly stunning!
With the hired chairs, the room was totally transformed and looks beautiful!!
What a fabulous entrance!! Love it guys!!
From the wedding breakfast, it was time for the much-anticipated speeches!
From the Father of the Bride, it was time for the man of the day, Tim…heckled straight away by the best men! Brilliant!!
And finally..the speeches we always wait for, the best men… Tim really did open himself up for a little abuse with the two guys…
Seeing a little gorgeous light coming through the trees, it was well worth stealing Kate + Tim away from their guests…
The sweet table definitely received approval!!
From the cutting of the stunning cake from Amerton Cakes, it was time to get the party started…
Alas, as the night started to get underway, also brought the conclusion of my coverage…but not before I made the most of the stunning sky to conclude Kate + Tim’s story…
And that brought the story to a close!
Kate + Tim, thank you for being so welcoming and inviting me into your day and allowing me to document your story.
Your day could not have been more perfect and I had the best time with you all!
I cannot wait to bring the final story together for you both!
