As a relaxed couple, your wedding is about having a gorgeous day, celebrating with friends and family.

You don’t want to spend your day with endless photographs, but want to look and feel amazing.

Ensuring your day is enjoyable for everyone is key – it’s a celebration after all.

You’re not overly posey people so feeling comfortable in front of the camera is vital.

You want to make sure all of the family are in your photographs but don’t want it to become a family shoot!

Instead, you want your story to wow everyone, show you, the best possible version of you, having the greatest day of your life.

Your wedding is all about having a great time. You don’t care about the outrageous extravagances or worrying about the little things that don’t matter – you just want to eat, drink and be merry with your favourite people. Looking amazing, feeling amazing and having a perfect time…

Does this sound like you?

If so, please read on...find out a little more about me, and how I like to tell the story of a wedding.

I’m Stuart James, and I’ve been photographing weddings for over 19 years. I live in Staffordshire…or wherever I have parked my campervan with my trusty companion by my side – my pooch, Rocksi!

Photographing weddings is more than a job, it’s a passion…it has to be! So much of ‘me’ goes into each and every wedding I capture…and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

My heart is most full when in the great outdoors, whether climbing mountains or paddling new waters on the board. Whether on the hills of Somerset or by the lakes of Cumbria, nothing beats the great outdoors, a hammock and a book in the hand.

Setting the day with meditation, yoga, and great coffee and being filled with inspiration leads me to a content life where I am blessed to carry out my biggest passion as a career – documenting great stories!

I’m a very relaxed and easygoing guy, so much, so it drives those who live with me insane, but that calmness helps so much on the wedding day.

So often, I hear my brides say how everything calms down when I get there!! I fit naturally into each situation and have a great time whilst I’m there!

Capturing stories is what really gets me going, with the stolen moments, glances and connections, really coming to the fore when the final narrative of the wedding day is in place.

My wedding photography style is natural and real. I capture all the fleeting and special moments and let you get on with having the best time.

I love capturing interactions and showing people’s true feelings and characters, but I also love getting creative with the two of you. Spending a few minutes at different points of the day creating those WOW images of you both…looking your absolute best, whilst feeling like you!

Our time together on the pre-wedding shoot will help to dispell any nerves or fears about being photographed, allowing us to get to know each other.

If you feel comfortable, and look great, I’ve done my job right!

On the day it truly is about your relaxing and enjoying yourself.

From the moment I arrive I’ll become a natural part of your wedding; blending in to capture the day as it unfolds.

Helping control the flow of the day, capturing all the desired photos, in a quick and relaxed manner, allowing you to spend your time with friends and family is what it’s about. Your day isn’t a photoshoot, and I promise it will never feel that way!

From our first meeting, through to when I hand over your finished album, we’re in this together. Building confidence and a personal connection are essential…knowing who is important to you, and the things that matter, help me transform the story of your day beyond just photographs. It helps you truly connect with the story.

There is nothing more captivating than an emotion invoking narrative showing your full day as it unfolds…
