Hundred House Wedding Photography
A gorgeous October wedding with Hundred House Wedding Photography by Shropshire Documentary Wedding Photographer Stuart James
So often I have couples book me because they don’t like being photographed.
They don’t want to spend their day having endless photos taken, and often don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Kayleigh + Georgina wanted the record of their day to capture them, enjoying their day with their friends and family. No fuss, just natural photos of the day. What more could I ask for?
On the lead-in to the wedding, I had the opportunity to meet with Kayleigh and Georgina at The Hundred House. We spoke about the plans for the day and put the couple in front of the camera too. An exercise that is always so valuable, never more so that with this couple! While Kayleigh loved it, Georgina had a real hatred of the camera – at least, she said it was the camera, not me! By the end of the shoot, everything changed, and led to the wedding just flowing comfortably – and being a blast!
Hundred House Wedding Photography
The way I love to capture a wedding is to keep it all natural. Only control a few minutes of the day, for the family photographs, and for the stunning portraits. This approach was precisely what Kayleigh and Georgina wanted, and from the engagement session, I knew we were going to have a great time!
I loved how Kayleigh and Georgina planned their day – a late afternoon ceremony, to a drinks reception and speeches, before heading straight to the party! Just perfect for the couple and their guests alike!
My coverage of their wedding day started with the bridal preparations with Kayleigh and the girls.
It’s always an absolute pleasure to be working alongside Chloe McCall – a truly fabulous West Midlands Makeup Artist!
The ladies from The Lily Pot did a fabulous job on the bridal flowers, with Kayleigh’s bouquet looking stunning! (You can see that in detail later!)
As the hair styling was finished by Russell, and the bridesmaids were looking stunning in their gowns, it was time for that amazing dress for Kayleigh from Wedding Belles of Four Oaks.
Always good to know your bridesmaids are there to lend a hand!
With Kayleigh looking simply stunning, it was time for a favourite moment – the reveal of the Bride in her beautiful gown to the waiting Father of the Bride!
Wedding Photography at The Hundred House
Leaving the bridal party, it was time to head to the stunning Hundred House Hotel.
Capturing the wedding guests as they arrived, and the nerves on Georgina’s face, the story really started to come together.
Wedding in the Tythe Barn at The Hundred House, Telford
From the nerves on Kayleigh’s face to the excitement of the Father of the Bride to the anticipation for Georgina, the following set of images show so much emotion:
Capturing the ceremony with all of the beautiful expressions, I really felt part of it all with them both!
From the first journey together, to a bombardment of confetti, the afternoon got off to a fabulous start!
Creative Hundred House Wedding Photography
From the family photographs in the gardens, it was time to explore the stunning setting with Kayleigh and Georgina. A few relaxed minutes away from everything, with the two of them looking stunning! Such a transformation in feeling and attitude from the engagement session – and totally worth it for the images we got to create!
See what I mean about the bouquet?! Just stunning!
The character of the bar at The Hundred House provides such a great setting for the guests to enjoy, and these guys knew how to enjoy themselves! I knew I was going to be in for a fabulous evening!!
Wedding Reception in the Tythe Barn
The decoration for the wedding breakfast and evening in the Tythe Barn was brought together by Kayleigh and Georgina with help from their friends and family. With a choice of a “Mad Hatters” theme, I think it was safe to say these are a crazy bunch!!
Wedding Speeches at The Hundred House
Photographing the speeches has always been a highlight of the story for me, and with two Father of the Bride speeches, a wonderful reading, and Kayleigh getting the party mood started, this set of speeches was great!
Wedding Reception at The Hundred House
I love how Kayleigh and Georgina set their whole day for a relaxing time with friends and family! From a late afternoon wedding, straight into the reception, their wedding really was about celebrating with everyone – and with a room full of midwives, I think they were all ready to let their hair down!
Sparklers Exit at The Hundred House
As Kayleigh finally brought Georgina onto the dancefloor, it was soon time for the end of the coverage – and what better way to end, than with a sparklers tunnel!
