An intimate October Wedding at Hawkstone Hall with Shrewsbury Wedding Photographer Stuart James

2020 has been a strange old year – from weddings postponing once, twice, three times to plans having to change dramatically to fit in with the permitted numbers, it really has been a fluid and changing year.
Terena + Stuart’s plans, like so many others, had to flex and change but what they brought together was absolutely sublime.

Hawkstone Hall in Shrewsbury is a truly spectacular venue, set on acres of private grounds and with class and character throughout all of the rooms; it really has everything you could wish for.

My coverage of Terena + Stuart’s wedding started with the morning preparations with the bridal party ahead of the arrival of Stuart in the early afternoon.

The styling for the day was truly out of this world, with the displays created by Red Floral Architecture adding to the style of the venue beautifully.

The mood on the wedding morning with the bridal party was so incredibly relaxed – I love a wedding morning like this.

I had my good friend Mark from The Big Day Productions alongside me for the day capturing the wedding film for Terena and Stuart – always love working with Mark!

As the call came in from our Groom, it was time to go down and capture his arrival and preparations, and of course capture the stunning chapel decorated by Red Floral. It was also the first chance to capture one of the most important guests – Terena + Stuart’s dog!

The hair and make-up was all looked after by two of the bridesmaids and all of the bridal party looked absolutely stunning!
The choice of gowns and details in the accessories were truly perfect – you could tell the wedding had been planned over a good time!

Civil Wedding Ceremony at Hawkstone Hall

The old chapel at Hawkstone Hall is such a stunning setting for a wedding ceremony. The quality of the restoration work carried out when the company renovated the venue shines through – it really is idyllic!

Having the space to capture the guests and the bride and groom unobtrusively during the ceremony really added to the story, and the light was just sublime.

Relaxed Wedding Photos in the Grand Hall at Hawkstone Hall

From the candid photographs of the guests enjoying the drinks reception to the relaxed family portraits in a setting that felt more mediteranean than October in Shrewsbury, it was brilliant to capture the guests enjoying the wedding reception with Terena and Stuart.

Couples Portraits around the Grounds and Gardens at Hawkstone Hall

Despite the inclement October weather, we were able to make the most of the grounds and gardens at Hawkstone Hall for a few photos with the Bride and Groom. There really is so much to explore and enjoy – I cannot wait to explore these gardens on a summer wedding in the future.

Wedding Breakfast at Hawkstone Hall

The styling by Red Floral really brought the room to life for the wedding breakfast, with the candles adding a wonderful light and ambience to the room. Terena + Stuart had arranged for a singer to entertain the guests throughout the afternoon and during the meal, and it all set the scene for a wonderful reception for all to enjoy.

Evening Reception at Hawkstone Hall Wedding Venue

From the relaxed evening with the wedding breakfast and fabulous wedding speeches, it was soon time for another singer to come in and get the subtle party started with the bride and groom able to enjoy a fabulous first dance and the guests enjoying the night celebrating together.

With that my coverage of Terena and Stuart’s wedding came to a wonderful conclusion and I left the party to enjoy the evening together. With the restrictions that were in place, it was fabulous to see the party able to make the most of the possibilities and have the best time together.

Hawkstone Hall is such an incredible venue – I truly cannot wait to be back next summer.

Thank you for inviting me to capture your wedding Terena and Stuart – I loved every second!
