Hawkesyard Wedding Photographs
The relaxed, intimate wedding story of Jo + Wayne at Hawkesyard Estate, Rugeley
Hawkesyard Wedding Photographers
The initial conversations I have with couples often shape so much of the journey we’ll enjoy together.
I first met Jo at Hawkesyard Estate Wedding Fayre. Having walked around much of the fayre, Jo came past my stand and said, “I really hate my photograph being taken”, to which I replied, “so do 90% of my couples” – only to be shot down with Jo stating, “No, I really hate my photograph being taken.” It was then that we started talking. Talking about how I capture the wedding day, being so incredibly relaxed and natural from the start. And ensuring to rid any fears and phobias before the wedding with the engagement shoot. To say that was the news Jo wanted to hear was a vast understatement – and it shows once again, it’s about the approach and attention as much as it is the photographs!
Spending time with Jo and Wayne and also meeting their daughters, I knew I was going to have the most fabulous time capturing their wedding.
With the stunning setting of Hawkesyard Estate, mostly fabulous August weather, and great entertainment from Derek Brock and Mikey Gormley, the day was perfect. Even the unexpected showers didn’t drown spirits!
Here’s a look through the wedding of Jo + Wayne at Hawkesyard Hall – one I just adored sharing!
The atmosphere on the morning was full of laughter and only a little stress – that was until the wedding cake didn’t arrive!
Fantastic service from Mary at Hawkesyard – as soon as she found out she was upstairs with a glass of prosecco and the order to relax! Fabulous!!

As the bridal makeup was brought together, and Jo’s daughters being incredibly cute, it was time for the Groom’s party and the guests to arrive.
It was fabulous to see Wayne so relaxed – and a definite relief that the cake had arrived by this point, otherwise I think Jo may have had words…the cake was Wayne’s one responsibility!!
Unfortunately, the summer weather we’d been enjoying had broken this morning, but with lady luck on our side, we were able to make the most of the grounds after the ceremony.

With Wayne looking incredibly relaxed enjoying a drink with the arriving guests, it was back to Jo as the finishing touches came together – and to say Jo and the girls looked fabulous, is a vast understatement! The flowers from Lynne at Fine Flowers were perfect too!

With the bridal party looking incredible, I took the short walk through the building to the assembling guests.
Ready for the ceremony, with Derek Brock adding a fabulous ambience, the mood was perfect, elevated to an emotional crescendo as Jo made her entrance to her waiting groom!
Capturing the little looks and moments during the ceremony, it was beautiful to tell this part of the wedding story.

From the ceremony and the family photographs, we made the most of the gap in the weather to head around the grounds with Jo + Wayne.
I’ve loved the grounds around the Hawkesyard Estate since my first visit and certainly have my favourite spots. It’s always great to utilise new areas, however, and make the most of the light on the day.

After just a few minutes with Jo + Wayne, it was time to rejoin the guests for the drinks reception.
Keeping an eye on the weather, I brought forward the final photos with everyone outside and just in the knick-of-time we captured the big group and the confetti photos ahead of the rain coming down! Oh to be grateful for a fabulous indoor space for the guests to enjoy!
I just loved this little moment between Jo + Wayne:

From making the most of the stunning triple-heigh hallway and the magnificent staircase, capturing the room with all the little touches from Stacey at Make My Wedding Special and Lynne from Fine Flowers, the suite looked fabulous for the wedding breakfast.
I loved the sequence here with Wayne starting married life in trouble – these wedding dresses are tricky to navigate!

The wedding speeches are always a highlight for me – I love capturing the reactions as the stories are told!
Jo + Wayne’s speeches were extra special, however, with Jo’s daughters and Wayne’s son’s taking centre stage!
So much emotion, it was incredible to take in and capture.

As the guests kicked-back and relaxed, it was terrific to steal a few minutes with Jo + Wayne.
Evening in the summer is always my favourite time for portraits, and with the gorgeous golden light falling on the gardens, it was well worth spending a little time with Jo + Wayne.

With the evening guests in attendance, and the dancefloor already in action with the excited bridesmaids, and the cake cut, there was only one thing left – the first dance and getting the party started!!
From the chilled out music of Derek during the day, it was a full on party with the energetic rock performance of Mikey Gormley – one amazing singer-guitarist. And to think Jo + Wayne found him by chance in a local pub! Amazing!!
There can be only one way to conclude a Hawkesyard Wedding Story – my signature night portraits!
Jo + Wayne, can I once again say what an immense pleasure it was to share your day and capture your story.
