Hayley + Danny’s Autumn Wedding Photographs by Rugeley Wedding Photographer Stuart James
Hawkesyard Estate in Rugeley is a stunning wedding venue when with weather on your side you can make the most of the stunning grounds along with the house…and for Danny + Hayley’s day, that’s exactly what we had!
October can always be a bit hit-and-miss for weather. However, despite the threats of rain, lady luck stayed on our side throughout!
There is definitely a magic to the cultured gardens at Hawkesyard, and every time I go there, I just love capturing the character of the setting.
For Danny + Hayley I had a little more work to do along with photographing their day, as they had booked my PhotoFilm coverage too…but after cutting together their film, I’m so glad they did!
I remember sitting down with Hayley + Danny a few days before their wedding, and noticed Danny was a little quiet… Well, it turns out, it was the first time it had all “felt real”! It was fabulous seeing the emotion building on the day…
But before we get to the wedding itself, lets head back to the morning, with the bridal preparations…
My coverage started at Hayley’s mom and dad’s house, with Geoff sensibly staying out of the way, and leaving Julie with Hayley and the four bridesmaids and two flower girls!!
It was great to see Rachel Bourne again who was on MakeUp duties.
Hayley and Danny’s daughter Savannah was such a cutie all morning long…and such a character as the day got underway!!
It was almost all too much as Julie nearly set Hayley off…
As the bridesmaids and flowergirls were all ready in their gowns from MiAmor Bridal and Rebecca Elizabeth, it was time for Hayley to don that fabulous gown!
…which left the Father of the Bride speechless! Always a favourite moment to document…
Leaving the Bridal Party I headed over to Hawkesyard Estate to see how our groom was holding up…
The room for the wedding ceremony decorated by Make My Wedding Special and completed by a custom aisle runner from Elegant Aisle really did look stunning!
I think it’s safe to say the emotions and nerves were building…

The start of one of my favourite procession scenes of the year…Savannah totally stole the show!!
The lighting from the grand windows at Hawkesyard is always a treat for the ceremony…
Signed, sealed and delivered… played out by the fabulous Samantha Jayne on sax. You can hear her live performance from the day on the video at the bottom of the post!
From the family groups on the lawns – which I have to say a HUGE thank you to the Toastmaster Garry Smith for his efficient help, it was time to head off with the bride and groom into the grounds…
I know I have already complimented our stunning bride, but it would be remiss of me not to mention our groom too!
Danny chose Peter Posh for his and the boy’s suits, but elected for a fabulous tweed suit for himself – and boy was that a good choice!! Very sharp sir!!
I just LOVE this shot!!
After a few minutes with Hayley + Danny, it was time to release them back to their guests to chill out and enjoy the afternoon!
The suite dressed for the wedding breakfast looked fabulous, with the pastel colour theme carried perfectly throughout including the stunning cake from Sweet Success.
From the grand entrance of our Bride and Groom, it was straight into the speeches! Always one of my favourite sections of the day to capture…especially when cutting the video later!!
From the emotional speech from our Father of the Bride, it was over to Danny…and boy did that one tug at the heartstrings…
Colley and Mozza did Danny and Hayley proud with their joint best man’s speech, with the perfect blend of emotion and humour…and of course, finishing on the classic comforting stat…as Hayley + Danny looked lovingly at each other…that statistically they were the most likely person to kill the other! Brilliant!!
The time on the afternoon and the evening flew by and it was soon time to get proceedings underway…
From the dancefloor, it was time to head outside for a couple of signature portraits to conclude the story…
Hayley and Danny, thank you for inviting me to your wedding and allowing me to capture your story. I had the best time with you all and couldn’t have been more grateful for the weather staying onside!!
I cannot wait to bring the final story together for you to share with everyone and enjoy at Christmas time!
