Goldstone Hall Wedding Photographers
Creative Documentary Wedding Photography by Shropshire Wedding Photographer Stuart James
I first got to know Helen when photographing a wonderful two-part celebration as her daughter Katie married Simon at Edinburgh Castle in a December celebration quite a few years ago! When Helen starting planning her wedding to Arthur, she contacted me straight away, and I couldn’t wait to capture another occasion for the family.
As has been the case for so many couples, plans were changed and changed again, but finally, we descended on Goldstone Hall in Market Drayton Shropshire for a wonderfully relaxed wedding celebration – and my first ‘mass gathering’ post Covid-19!!
My coverage of Helen + Arthur’s wedding at Goldstone Hall began mid-afternoon with the arrival of the guests for the ceremony in the Garden Pavilion – such a stunning civil ceremony setting.

The setting of the garden pavilion at Goldstone Hall could not have been more perfect for a summer’s afternoon, and capturing Helen walking down the carpeted aisle accompanied by her granddaughters was simply stunning.
Intimate weddings really have a special feel to them, and of course, Helen + Arthur had the best of both worlds – an intimate gathering for the ceremony and drinks reception, before being joined by a wonderful collection of friends for the evening’s celebrations.
Wedding Photographs at Goldstone Hall
It’s safe to say the gardens at Goldstone Hall are quite stunning! I was spoilt for choice for background with Helen + Arthur, despite the blazingly bright summer sun.
Capturing to newlyweds was so much fun – the interaction between them was infectious to witness, just beautiful.
Evening Reception in The Summer Gardens
Helen and Arthur’s wedding had such a wonderfully relaxed vibe – from the late afternoon ceremony with an intimate gathering of family and their closest friends, as the evening arrived, so did the masses! Helen + Arthur’s friends descended upon Goldstone Hall for a wonderful reception.
Drinks in the garden, a perfect opportunity for candid photographs, before the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations in the marquee.
Marquee Wedding Reception at Goldstone Hall
From basking in the evening sun in the gardens, it was soon time for the call to dinner, and it really was brilliant to have a room full of people again after the conditions of the last 12+ months! With Helen taking centre stage with the speeches to welcome everyone – and announce her brilliant wedding gift to Arthur, a highland cow – it was soon time to be entertained by the catering team.
The rest of the speeches followed with our Groom, Helen’s daughter and son taking the microphone to lead a great story about their mom, and finally to the best man, Arthur’s son, whose speech was met by rapturous applause.
First Dance and Evening Party at Goldstone Hall
From the speeches, it was straight onto the dancefloor to get the party started – oh, it was good to see people dancing again!
It certainly seemed they would be in for a great night too!!
Following the start of the dancing, my coverage came to an end, with only one way to finish – a signature night portrait to finish the story…
