Fundraising Night for LupusUK | Padma Lounge, Cannock

Last night me and Beki were at Padma Lounge in Cannock for a fundraising night for LupusUK – a charity we are both trying to do so much for this year!

I first heard about Lupus from John Hibbs, whose wedding I photographed at The Moat House last August, and he is doing so much to try and raise awareness and support, along with raising a fantastic amount of money for the charity and his sister Vicky who was diagnosed with the disease a couple of years ago.

Before I started talking to John about Lupus I had never heard of the disease, as I’m sure many of you will have not, and unfortunately there is little understanding about it and there is no cure for the disease which affects so many people. To read more about the disease, and find out how you can help, please visit John’s website which details all the work he is doing – including running the London Marathon with Kate!! – and also give you all the information you could need. Me and Beki are also really happy to be part of the ‘Team Hibbsy Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge’ and despite problems with my knees nothing will stop me completing the challenge and trying to raise as much money as possible for Lupus! If you would like to sponsor the team for our 3 Peaks Challenge please click here, and if you would like to support my awesome friends Kate and John on their marathon challenge please click here.

Last night was a great success and thanks must go to the Padma Lounge for putting on the event for Lupus, and to Spoz and Dave for entertaining us during the evening. We managed to raise over £800 from the raffle and the sale of tickets for the night, and it was great to be able to offer 1st Prize for the raffle – a family portrait session and Signed Canvas Print worth over £400 to the winner – I’m waiting to hear from George now after Kate’s given him the good news to arrange the portrait – more information will be here as soon as it’s all confirmed!

Ready to do this?
