Erin and Ross were married at her families church in Codsall in a Roman Catholic Ceremony back at the start of July on what was certainly a glorious summers afternoon. As I mentioned back in the teaser post I actually met Erin and her family back 10 years ago when I photographed her sister Gemma’s wedding to Mike as the second photographer to my father Barry James and it was actually really interesting hearing comments and talking to people about how much our approach to photography has changed in that time, moving from the tradition colour 120 roll film being used in the Hasselblad 501cm with the more ‘candid’ black & white photography by myself on the Nikon F100, again on B&W film, Kodak T400CN at the time actually, where to now things are so much more fluid in our relaxed and documentary approach, and obviously a massive change in equipment – which is definitely for the better!! Being able to edit a wedding the next morning before you go and photograph another is simply amazing, and the quality still astounds me from where things were a few years ago when I set up my business.
The whole day went really smoothly and everything at the Park House Hotel in Shifnal, Wolverhampton was absolutely perfect and everyone had a fantastic day. From the relaxed morning with the bride and the girls, through to the crazy dancing on the night with music from a live band, the photos really are great – and after Erin and Ross came and saw me last night and I am so happy that they love their photos as much as I do!!
I’m actually heading off on holiday for two weeks tomorrow but I will be periodically keeping in touch with emails but phones won’t be answered until I return on the 11th August.
