I first met Sian + Liam back in April 2017 after they saw my work at the Oak Farm wedding fayre. However, my father Barry James had already captured Sian’s sisters wedding a couple of years ago, so it was fabulous to be able to keep it in the family ????
When we met to discuss the plans for the wedding, I was delighted with the idea of returning to a venue I hadn’t had the opportunity to visit for many years – the stunning Blakelands Country House in Bobbington. Knowing how stunning the setting was, and having been to St Nicholas’ Church in Codsall, I knew with summer weather on our side we would have one special day!
Leading up to the wedding I had the opportunity to spend a little time with Sian + Liam at Himley Hall where we were able to dispell any fears they felt about ‘being-photographed’. I always love spending time with my couples during the Engagement Sessions – and it’s fabulous to see the photos being used on the wedding day too.

My coverage of Sian + Liam’s wedding began with arrivals at the church as Danny from Carefully Crafted Media was already setting-up. Danny’s work is truly fabulous – I cannot wait to see the film he’s created for Sian + Liam’s Blakelands Wedding.
I love working with videographers – the extra coverage the couples receive is truly fabulous – and when it’s someone you love working with, it makes the whole day a blast too!
With gorgeous summer weather, everyone arrived beaming and looking stunning. The boys looked very dapper dressed to-the-nines by Peter Posh, and it was fabulous to see Liam wasn’t too nervous either!
Sian arrived beaming and looking amazing. Her gown from Champagne & Roses complimented perfectly by flowers from Codsall Flowers was absolutely perfect!
With our bridal party ready for the procession down the aisle at St Nicholas’, it was time for the wedding ceremony. Capturing the vows and the ring exchange from our position at the back-of-the-church, it was clear to see how happy the couple were!
Signed, sealed and delivered, and bombarded with confetti in some style, it was over to the beautiful Blakelands for the wedding reception!

The setting of Blakelands really has it all – even with the fabulous Halfpenny Green airport adding to the entertainment as the craft come into land.
As the guests relaxed on the lawns and soaked up the summer sun, it was fabulous to spend a few minutes with Sian + Liam, knowing we had a great opportunity for beautiful evening portraits after the meal!
From the time with the couple and the family portraits, the rest of the afternoon was incredibly relaxed, capturing the guests enjoying the fabulous wedding!
Weddings at Blakelands
The barn for the reception at Blakelands is absolutely stunning. With the elegant decoration Sian + Liam brought to the Chiavari chairs and the tables, everything looked perfect!
With speeches before the meal, it was straight into the action, leaving everyone perfectly relaxed to enjoy the afternoon and early evening.

With a perfect summers day, we always aimed to capture the main portraits with Sian + Liam in the early evening with the beautiful golden light across the fields – and what an inspired decision it was!
There is so much to explore at Blakelands and with a beautiful couple and a perfect summers day, we really were spoilt for choice.
Following a few final portraits – that light was too good to not make the most of – it was time to cut that amazing cake from Cakeland, and open the dancefloor!

Finishing in style with a signature night portrait, it was time to leave Sian + Liam to relax and enjoy the celebrations with their friends and family!
