Chelsea Wedding Photographer captured Chelsea Registry Office Wedding with Chelsea Harbour Hotel Reception
When I get invited to photograph the wedding of a friend, it does add to the feeling for the day. Add in the genuinely stunning location of Chelsea, and you start to get me excited!
I’ve known both Mel + Rob for many years, from my corporate photography work. With Rob having worked within AF Blakemore for many years, as soon as I had the call about the wedding, I couldn’t wait to capture the day for them!
Mel + Rob’s wedding was also the start of a pretty crazy run of weddings. The end of August is always busy, but this was a pretty packed period!
Unfortunately, this meant I had to dash back on the train early in the evening, but the story I captured was pretty unique!
My photography of Mel + Rob’s wedding started with the late morning preparations at the stunning Chelsea Harbour Hotel. Capturing both the bride and groom’s preparations, ahead of the wedding at Chelsea Registry Office.
The atmosphere of the whole day was so wonderfully relaxed, it was the coming together of great friends and close family, to celebrate with the two of them!

With Mel + Rob getting ready just one floor apart, it was fabulous to be able to split my time between them both.
With the groom and his grandsons dressed and ready; I headed back to the bridal party…

With a dash in the Addison Lee cars, it was over to Chelsea Registry Office for the wedding ceremony.
I loved capturing the arrival of the guests, and indeed our groom walking down from the pub too!
Capturing the emotion building for the groom is always a highlight. With Rob, it was a full display of emotion.
Signed, sealed and delivered!
I love how Chelsea Registry Office allow the Bride and Groom to greet their guests following the ceremony…and then get bombarded on their exit! Who doesn’t like a confetti shot?!
From the confetti and the couple of family group photographs, it was into the awaiting London Routemaster Bus.\
From the group photograph on arrival, it was up to the penthouse at Chelsea Harbour Hotel for the reception.
Such a stunning setting, and with gorgeous August weather on our side, it was fabulous to explore the surrounding streets with our Bride and Groom for a few minutes ahead of the wedding breakfast.
The decoration for the room was all brought together with help from friends of the bride and groom; Conrad did a particularly fabulous job on the flowers!
To start the proceedings, it was over to the Father of the Bride for one fantastic speech!
With only minor heckling from the assembled guests, the emotions certainly got to Rob again during the speech.
From the emotional speech of Rob, it was time for the Best Man, Rob’s son. Starting off with the infamous line, “I was highly honoured to be asked to be dad’s best man…until I realised it was because he has no friends!” Just brilliant and set the tone for a great speech!
Leaving the guests to enjoy the wedding breakfast, it was fabulous to enjoy the stunning summer weather on the balcony at Chelsea Harbour post meal.
As my coverage was only into the early evening, it was fabulous to bring the story to a conclusion with a few signature portraits on the harbour.
Mel + Rob, it was such a privilege to come down to Chelsea to capture your wedding day. As a couple I have known for so many years, it was special to be there to photograph your day.
