Although only a relatively short drive from our base in South Staffordshire, I had never been to Birdsgrove House in Ashbourne, Derbyshire ahead of Katie + Lawrence’s wedding, but it has to be said what a wonderful setting for a wedding…
Katie + Lawrence came to find me for their wedding following a recommendation and as soon as we started talking about their ideas and plans and how relaxed the whole day was going to be, I just knew it was my ‘sort’ of wedding and the day didn’t disappoint at all. From when I arrived in the morning to meet Lawrence and the boys through the whole day to the end of the fabulously entertaining wedding speeches, the day had a wonderfully warm and relaxed feel.
With the setup at Birdsgrove House the majority of the wedding party had been able to relax at the house the day before the wedding, being able to make a complete weekend experience of the wedding…something that added a wonderful feeling to the celebrations.
Katie + Lawrence are such a fabulous couple and although I had only got to know them over the phone ahead of the wedding I felt so welcomed into their wedding that it added to the photographs from start to end.
Here is a look into their relaxed and wonderful summer wedding at Birdsgrove House, Ashbourne:
One of my favourite photographs from the day, Katie’s dad relaxed on his iPad before getting ready.
Not wanting to reveal the hair to anyone who may be looking, the Bridesmaids had a drape ready to cover Katie as she arrived and entered Birdsgrove House.
I love this progression from a nervous groom to being super excited when his bride arrived at his side.
Katie + Lawrence are such a great couple and it was so clearly evident the love and closeness between them.
Sorry girls but this little set really made me smile! :)
The setting of Birdsgrove House in Ashbourne with the river and weir at the far end of the woods and the surrounding meadows is a stunning setting for a wedding.
It’s not a good idea to spill a G+T onto your partners lap…but at least she added lemon!
After the wedding breakfast it was time for one of my favourite parts of a wedding, the wedding speeches.
With fantastic speeches to photograph from the Father of the Bride, the Father of the Groom and of course the main two men – the groom and best man – the final part of the coverage certainly didn’t disappoint!
Thank you for entrusting the documenting of your Birdsgrove House Wedding to me Katie + Lawrence – it was a huge pleasure to share your day.
