Snow Covered Winter Wedding Photography at Weston Park
JP + Sean’s Weston Park Winter Wedding Photography by Stuart James
I first spoke with JP and Sean about their wedding towards the end of 2017.
Bringing the whole wedding together in just a few months could undoubtedly have been stressful, but JP + Sean focussed on what mattered – getting married! With their closest friends and family there and the perfect choice of venue, the day was set to be pretty spectacular!
Come the week of the wedding, and the weather decided to add a complication to proceedings. With heavy snow falling across the country throughout the week, and a large proportion of the wedding party travelling from South Wales, things could indeed have been worrying. However, almost everyone made it in time to celebrate, and the day fell together perfectly.
With the addition of snow socks for the bridesmaid’s car to get her and JP through the country lanes, and a last minute change of hair and makeup artist – read more about that here! – the day was perfect!
In the lead-up to their wedding, I had the first opportunity to meet with JP and Sean for their engagement session. Getting to spend time with the couple, and realising how much fun they were to photograph, led me only to be excited for the wedding ahead!
From the morning preparations at Vision Hair and Beauty before heading to the stunning venue of Weston Park for the bridal preparations. JP + Sean’s wedding was a stunning day to capture!!
Staffordshire Winter Wedding
Weston Park Winter Wedding
On the drive into Weston Park, I couldn’t believe how beautiful everything looked – the snow really was going to make for stunning winter wedding photography!
From JP giving out the gifts to her Bridesmaids, it was time for her gift from Car-Wei. What a cute gift it was too, a tiny letter with matching magnifying glass!
Winter Wedding Photography in Brewood
Leaving JP and the bridal party, I headed over to Sean and the boys in Brewood to capture their preparations, which until it came time for the groom’s cravat went perfectly!
From an initial struggle, it was over to YouTube, before all hands were onboard to help Sean!
Winter Wedding at St Marys Church, Brewood
I had previously had the pleasure of photographing a winter wedding at St Marys Church a couple of years ago. With the snow on the ground, it did look stunning, though a little treacherous underfoot!
Working with the best Staffordshire Wedding Suppliers instils such a confidence, and as soon as I knew JP and Sean had booked Platinum Cars for their wedding, I was a happy man! I think Paul from Platinum Cars was happy to be driving a 4WD Bentley!!
The build of emotions for both the Bride and Groom is always a highlight to photograph, with Sean’s face showing such a story here:
The moment JP became PJ…something everyone will always smile apart, except for the vicar of course!
Signed, sealed and delivered, and from the family groups on the church door, it was time for the confetti bombardment…literaly!
Weston Park Wedding Photographs
Arriving in style at Weston Park, it was time to relax with the guests before braving the snow for our portraits.
Winter Wedding Portraits at Weston Park
With snow on the ground, a bride that wasn’t feeling the cold (although the groom was!!) it was great to spend a little time in the Italian Gardens at Weston Park, creating genuinely stunning portraits of the beautiful couple.
From the gardens it was back into the beautiful setting of Weston Park for a few relaxed, intimate portraits with the lovely JP and Sean; I could have photographed these guys for hours!! With the beautiful choice of gown, gorgeous flowers from Lavender Florist, and a very dapper groom, I was a happy photographer!
Wedding Breakfast in the Orangery at Weston Park
The styling of the orangery for the wedding breakfast was quite stunning. Keeping things simple and elegant with the candelabras, candlesticks and chair covers with pins from the Midlands Events Company setting off the room in style! The floral arrangement by Fine Flowers on the top table brought everything together perfectly!
From the wedding breakfast, as the sun was setting, it was time for the wedding speeches. Always an absolute highlight for me, and with great words from Car-Wei, our groom and our two best men, oh and of course our beautiful bride, we were treated to a fabulous few minutes!
Unfortunately one of the items that didn’t arrive for the wedding was the wedding cake. I love that the chef from Weston Park brought something together last minute for the couple!
Wedding Reception Photographs at Weston Park
Could there be a better way to announce your entrance to the wedding reception that Dhol Drummers?! Just awesome!!
From the first dance, it took no-time-at-all for the dancefloor to fill, and the party to get underway!
Sorry, Benni I just couldn’t resist ;)
As the wedding reception was drawing to a beautiful close, it was time for one thing – a few signature night portraits, with added snow!
JP + Sean, I am so glad I got to meet you all and to share in your day. There is such fantastic energy between you and all of your guests; capturing your day was a real pleasure.
