Last week I was at the newly refurbished and simply stunning Weston Hall in Stafford, a fabulous venue for a wedding in Staffordshire. It’s such a stunning venue since the new makeover and is run fantastically by the staff there – and I can testify for the food in the Cellar too – it’s delicious!!
Jo + David are such an amazing couple, and from when I first met them at Sandon Hall Bridal Fayre back in November 2012 and we started talking about their wedding, I just knew I was going to have a fantastic time with them.
After we’d braved the ice and snow upon the top of the Chase back in March and got to know each other better during the Engagement Session, I was pretty confident of a great day – and even more so when the sun came out and we had perfect weather for their wedding day!
It was also fantastic to see an old wedding connection when we started the day at Koo Hair Design, as Jo who owns the salon is the mother of Gemma Fisher – who’s wedding I had the pleasure of photographing way back in 2009.
Here’s Jo + David’s story.
From starting the day with the girls at Koo Hair Design in Stafford, it was off to David’s parents house in Aston by Stone:
The groomsmen getting their day in order…studying the days football fixtures.
One of my favourite photos of the day, David taking a few minutes to reflect on the day ahead:
Jo’s wedding dress from Princess Brides in Staffordshire looked absolutely stunning.
Emma Tilley from Divine Make-up in Stafford was a pleasure to work with during the morning preparations.
Completely un announced to anyone, Pete Hartley decided to conclude his entertainment during the wedding breakfast with a session of impromptu Greek Dancing for Jo + David – not that they had any choice about the matter!!
Pete Hartley was fantastic to have along for the day – you cannot beat live music, especially of his quality!
I loved being back at Weston Hall, and it was also a pleasure to work with James Thornton from Video My Wedding – a great camera operator who stayed completely out of the way for the whole wedding. I would thoroughly recommend James if you are looking for a videographer.
Thank you for inviting me to share your wedding Jo + David it was an absolute pleasure, I cannot wait for you guys to have your beautiful Wedding Art Book.
