Beautiful Summer Wedding Photographs at Hawkesyard Estate Rugeley
It’s not every day you get to photograph the wedding of your wife’s hairdresser, and your neighbour’s granddaughter – but what a wedding it was!
Meg + Ste are such a beautiful couple, and so incredibly chilled out – even about the wedding! Over the last few years, we’ve gotten to know Meg’s family through her grandma Vida, and it added a distinctive feel to the day.
Choosing the bank holiday weekend in May, and the stunning setting of Hawkesyard Estate, everything was indeed lined up for a fabulous day. When the weather decided to play ball and bless us with some of the most extraordinary conditions, I was one very fortunate photographer!
Although Meg + Ste didn’t opt for an engagement shoot on the lead-up to the big day, with how chilled out they are, I knew we’d get something special for them!
Rather than starting with the chaos at the salon – Meg owns Vision Hair and Beauty with her sister Emily – my coverage began with the arrival of the bridal party at Hawkesyard.
The mood was so incredibly relaxed with everyone in the morning. That was until we heard banging and screams – as Cara (Meg’s sister) managed to get stuck in the toilets:
With Paul, Meg’s dad, all suited and booted in black tie from Kevin Paul and as the boys began to arrive, it was nearly time for the dress for our bride!
Meg’s gown from the fabulous ladies at Kiss Bridal was breathtaking – truly perfect!
With hair and makeup, and now dressed to perfection, it was time for the gifts from our groom – Ste, you did very well indeed judging by Meg’s reaction!!
From capturing Meg’s reaction to the gifts, it was time for one of my favourite moments – the reveal to the Father of the Bride.
Such a touching and special moment – and although we didn’t have tears, Paul’s expression says it all – one proud dad!

Leaving the bridal party, it was time for a walk through the grounds to the groom and groomsmen who were relaxing with the guests.
Looking fabulous in their suits from Kevin Paul Menswear, it was wonderful to see everyone able to enjoy the setting with the sun out! What more could you ask for?
As the guests began to lead into the ceremony room, I took the opportunity to head back to the bridal party to see how the mood was!

With everything set, it was time for the ceremony in the stunning room at Hawkesyard Hall.
With beautiful light washing through the windows over the couple, and the room looking fabulous decorated by Stacey from Make My Wedding Special, it was such a pleasure to capture the ceremony and everyone’s reactions. From tears to laughter, it had it all!
As the newly married couple led their guests through the gardens, seeing the surroundings in full bloom was stunning!
From the family photos in gardens and capturing everyone enjoying the afternoon’s celebrations, it was time to steal a few minutes with my bride and groom.
The gardens at Hawkesyard Estate are just stunning – so many opportunities for photos. I just loved every minute with these two!!
Wedding Reception at Hawkesayrd Estate
From relaxing in the grounds, it was soon time for the wedding breakfast. The room was decorated to perfection by Make My Wedding Special and carried Meg’s theme off perfectly. However, the show-stopping piece was definitely the cake from the Funky Fairy Cake Shop – just stunning!!
From the amazing food from Jenkinsons Caterers to the entertainment from Nick Wiley, the spirits were very high – adding in the entertainment from our Flowergirl Marnie and the Bridesmaids, and it was the recipe for an amazing afternoon!
Evening Wedding Photography at Hawkesyard Estate
The speeches have long been a favourite time of the wedding for me, and with the amount of laughter around the room, Meg + Ste’s speeches did not disappoint!
As the guests relaxed into the evening, I stole a few minutes with my bride and groom once again. With light as stunning as this, I just couldn’t pass up the chance!

With this crowd I knew it wouldn’t take them long to go into the party spirit, and I wasn’t disappointed! The floor was full well before the first dance, and only got crazier into the night. (I’ve heard a few stories!!)
Alas, my coverage came all too quickly to a conclusion on Meg + Ste’s wedding, but not before a couple of signature portraits!
Meg and Ste, it was an absolute honour to share your wedding and capture your story.
I cannot wait to bring the finished album together with you soon!
