Lauren and Mike first came to me when looking for photographs of their wedding venue, and as a Moat House recommended wedding photographer they naturally found me!
When we sat down and started talking about their day, it was clear the more relaxed and natural everything could be the better…which with my documentary approach sat perfectly.
I actually got to spend an afternoon with Lauren and Mike walking around Shugborough Estate for their Pre-Wedding Engagement Shoot, which was an invaluable time to get to know each other better, and of course get a collection of gorgeous portraits in another brilliant setting.
Fortunately when the day of the wedding arrived we were blessed with great weather, with any threat of rain disappearing as the morning went by. My day started at Lauren and Mike’s house in Cannock documenting the morning preparations of Lauren and the girls with Natalie Bartram on hair duty, and Charlene Evason on makeup.
The whole morning was fantastically relaxed, and when it came to the time to put the dresses on from Formal Elegance and Margot Raybould, especially when complimented by the stunning flowers from Lynne at Fine Flowers the whole story came together beautifully.
From the bridal preparation in Cannock, it was straight down to St Lukes Church in the centre of town to capture the arrival of Mike and the boys, who looked particularly dapper in their suits from Duncan James menswear.
It was particularly nice to be back at St Lukes where I hadn’t been for a few years, it is after all a lovely church.
Upon arriving at The Moat House the whole afternoon and evening flowed in such a wonderfully relaxed fashion, it could not have been more perfect.
It was also great to be working alongside Steve Lunn on video on the wedding day – a great videographer to work alongside.
I had a great time with Lauren, Mike, their friends and family. Hope you enjoyed sharing this look into their wedding day.
