After sharing the initial previews of Sue + Dan’s wedding a few days ago I’m delighted to bring their featured story here today.
As I mentioned in the first post, Sue + Dan are close friends of mine and Beki’s so the whole day was even more special than usual.
Although not a venue I’ve worked at a great deal, The Castle Hotel in Tamworth with the extremely attentive staff was a fantastic venue to work at, and with the stunning Castle Grounds only a couple of minutes walk away, the whole setting is truly fantastic.
The day was absolutely fantastic and we all had a brilliant time – and I even enjoyed being a guest after the first dance too! I hope you enjoy sharing Sue + Dan’s wedding story.
Set in the heart of Tamworth in the shadow of the stunning Tamworth Castle and it’s surrounding gardens, The Castle Hotel was the perfect setting for Sue + Dan’s big day. Putting their own touch on the venue with their choice of flowers and the inclusion of the colour themed chair covers set the room off perfectly
I met up with Dan with his brother Rich and the guests in the bar at the Castle Hotel (after delivering a bottle of much needed champagne to Beki, Sue and the girls getting ready upstairs!
At this point I wasn’t sure if it was going to be the ‘calm before the storm’ with Olivia (who has always to this point cried at seeing me) but she was an absolute star all day long.
As you can see it was all fun and giggles up in the room during final bridal preparations.
See what I mean about stealing the show! One very proud dad seeing his daughter in her dress for the very first time.
I love this portrait of Sue captured in the melee of the afternoon. Simply beautiful.
It wasn’t until looking back at this photo recently that I saw the depths of emotion between Sue, Beki and Lisa – all of whom have been close friends for year. Sue means the absolute world to Beki and seeing the true friendship and love showing through here means I captured something so true in the photographs.
Seeing Sue’s face as she first walked up to Dan I couldn’t help but smile. Photographing weddings is always a huge privilege and honour, but photographing the wedding of close friends is incredibly special.
As you can see, the emotion was clearly flowing from Eleanor, Dan + Sue’s other daughter during the ceremony.
After the few family portraits straight after the ceremony I took Sue + Dan off around the grounds in the shadow of the Castle, and with the weather on our side we had a fantastic portrait session.
I love how sue is looking at her dad here during his Father of the Bride speech:
After the speeches I became a ‘true guest’ until the party commenced on the evening and it was fabulous to sit back and enjoy the wedding with Beki.
Some crazy dancing ensued throughout the night!!
Sue + Dan it was a true honour to be your wedding photographer at The Castle Hotel in Tamworth. Thank you for being such great friends and entrusting the documenting of your day to me.
