There has been somewhat of a tradition for me of finishing my wedding season each year at Sandon Hall in Stafford, and 2014 was no different…but rather than just one wedding, it was my last three weddings of the year, with Harriet + Joe on the 20th December, Nicky + Matt on the 21st December and the fabulous celebration and party that was New Years Eve with Katie + Simon…what a way to finish an amazing year!
I’ve already shared the briefest look at Harriet + Joe’s day here just before the Christmas break, however, I’m delighted to finally bring the full story to you all here today.
Harriet + Joe are a gorgeous couple, both enjoying successful careers in the armed forces, with both families also having famous histories within the army too, it was certainly a regimented and well organised day. But coming from this organisation allowed the day to flow perfectly, and with the stunning combined work from the staff at Sandon Hall, Jenkinsons and the amazing venue dressing and lighting design by Pumpkin Events – wow! Sandon Hall has never looked so good!!
My day started in the bedroom at Sandon Hall with Harriet and her Bridesmaids being looked after by the amazing Helen Cormack, and with so much emotion around the room, from Harriet’s god mother, both the mother of the bride and Joe’s mum, and Harriet herself when presented by the amazing gifts from Joe on the morning, it was a feast of opportunities for wedding photography. Something that was repeated, with a more controlled display of emotion it must be said, when I visited Joe and the boys at the Dog and Doublet before they headed to All Saints Church in Sandon.
Blessed with good weather throughout the day, the day could not have been more perfect. Working alongside an old friend Andy from Zeus Films – whose film I cannot wait to see from the day – made the day even more of a pleasure to be a part of, and when we were spoilt by amazing light upon arriving at Sandon Hall for the couple portraits, I knew the photographs of the wedding would look something special.
There were so many great moments of the day, from the intimate and emotional relationships from both friends and family, to the wonderful detailing of the day including Harriet’s gown from Charlotte Thompson Bridal, the very unique and stunning Bridesmaids dresses from Alice Temperley and not forgetting the beautiful floral design from Alison O’Mara competing the design and look of the day perfectly.
We’ve just completed the album design of Harriet + Joe’s Sandon Wedding photographs and I cannot wait to share that complete story through the couple with their friends and family.
