Katie + David | Tettenhall Wood and the Moat House

Saturday 11th April saw the start of my 2009 wedding season and what a stunning wedding it was!
Katie + David got married at Christ Church, Tettenhall Wood just a short walk from the Bride’s family home with the reception at The Moat House, Acton Trussell.
Although Katie’s family are based in Tettenhall, the Bride and Groom actually live up near Newcastle and it really was a proper Geordie celebration.
The little touches on the planning on the day were noticeable throughout, and Katie looked great in her dress from Accent Original and the boys were well looked after by Peter Posh too. With the hose and carriage for arrival, and also a brief departure from the church it added a real personal touch for Katie + David, but unfortunately the journey from the Church to the Moat House was too far for the horses so instead it was a quick photo shoot back at mom and dad’s house before climbing in to the Rolls from Finishing Touch. The cake from Fairytale Cakes was also a particular highlight from the day.
I had a fantastic time photographing their wedding and I am incredibly happy with the photos, of which just a few are below. I can’t wait to design the album tomorrow and get it under production in Australia!

On a technical side it was the first wedding outing for the 24-70mm f2.8 Nikon lens on the D3 and was accompanied by my trusty old 80-200mm f2.8…such a simple pairing and a joy to use. The quality of the images straight out of the camera and the control of light made easily possible by the SB900 Speedlight, my editing on the new MacPro System with Dual Monitors was a true pleasure…roll on the rest of the season!!!

Hope you both have a fantastic time on your honeymoon in Europe…see you soon!!
